I think a lot of of this could be resolved by removing the beeping sound that tells the pilots the missile has been fired, it should just be a lock on sound as it was in bf2, currently they know exactly when to deploy flares, with that fast beeping sound removed it would be mroe guesswork.
In BF2 you can check your 6 for incoming missiles in BF3 you can't so that idea is a no go. You will have every stinger noob getting lock then wait for flares, mobile AA and stingers are enough to make aircraft run for cover and stop them dominating.
guys how to install the patch, i click on update in the browser, origin pops up to the games page, but nothing happens ?
any stand alone file ?
No mobile AA on normal conquest, so that just leaves the now defunct stinger.
Ive been saying this since about the second day of the game, when a pilot has stealth coupled with flares hes virtually untouchable from the ground. The flares reload far too fast and the lockon for the stinger takes ages when a pilot has stealth, also factor in the the missile travel time trying to catch up to the jet. All this just adds up to the jet getting time to pop flares whenever needed.
flares need to be nerfed.
Surely the primary method of downing jets should be the jets on your team. Stingers aren't the main way of downing things.
Does anyone know if the patch fixes the "brrrrrr" hard lock crash?
No but now they really are pointless, people were moaning about them being crap before they got nerfed, what do these same people think now?
Can someone please enlighten those who in the dark, how this bloody patch installs?
Mine doesn't seem to be doing anything useful.
Game Manager says' "installing Game"....has been for 20 mins now. (20mbit connection)
What gives? This is some kind of wnak!
That is a Realtek on-board sound/Punkbuster issue that has been around since Bad Company 2
So I doubt it very much.
I have just ordered a sound card as I'm getting sick of the constant hardlocks.
I logged into Origin and it did it by itself in a few minutes. Maybe try logging out and in again?
