The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Does anyone know where I can find an item that has a boost to destruction, specifically reducing the magicka cost of destruction spells?

I want to disenchant that mofo and whack it on my gear.

Goto faralda at the college and hope that she has Novice/apprentice etc. of destruction robes.

I managed to find Orcish armour of utter destruction that reduced it by 22%. :p

Jeezaz, cheers for that.

Yea I realised sinking points into regeneration was not all that beneficial, since it doesn't regen quicker during battle! Woulda been nice if the game actually explained some of these perks in more detail.

edit: doh.. in fact, I actually have some of those robes in my inventory, I stuck it all in my chest! :p

So has any one done the 1.2 update? also do u have to so anything before install i dont wana wast my time reinstalling the game if it screws up

No need to ask twice dude...the update is not due till next week. Take a look on their forum.

Good god, where do you even find shopkeepers with that much money to buy stuff, all the shopkeepers I encounter have about 700 gold on them to buy my gear with.

Thieves Guild fence has about 4k after doing all the quests, her gold resets every 48 hours it seems. That's where I sell most of my more expensive gear.

Would it be possible for a mod to change the save file system? I'm finding it really lacking when you starting having multiple characters. Found out the hard way you can only have 1 quick save at a time (I use it in all games with the feature, and usually it creates new saves) so when I used it on a new character I unknowingly lost everything I'd quicksaved on the other (I know theres work arounds, but it's not hard to make it save new files). Also I don't understand why in this day and age we can't just have a list of characters with their latest saves next to them, instead of one long list you have to go through every time you want to figure out which one was the latest save for another char? You also can't name saves, and the default method is useless, having a save named Skyrim 17 doesn't tell me anything at all useful. Hope modders can change this, or I'm being a douché and missing something obvious.

I have a question about the Companions someone might be able to answer.

I used the Glenmorill witch's heads to cure myself. But even after using 2 on myself and the dead guy from the quest, I still have 2 heads left. And there are 3 other known werewolves in the companions. Do any of them want to be cured and how do I cure them if so? Speaking to them has no dialogue options.

yes, TESV gamesave manager is your friend. Can be found on skyrim nexus under the utilities section.

What!? It doesn't regen quicker during battle? Man that sucks hard, totally wasted points.

Is there anywhere i can confirm this? (at work so cant search for game related stuff) Cheers.

Level 42 now, 100 smithing and enchanting, Made a set of armour with +28 smithing on 4 items, and also drank a +50 smithing potion. Used this to imrpove my daedric set of armour and weapons. This means my armour is over the cap (which is 649 i think?) at about 740, despite only having 3/5 on the first heavy armour perk and not having maching set perk either. Therfore I don't need to put any heavy armour enchantments on the armour and won't need any more heavy armour perks either.

Similarly, I used a +25 enchanting potion to enchant my armour, ring and amulet, though as it only lasted 1 minute I could only do 4 or 5 items before time ran out. Gone for 2 lots of magic resist (28 each) fr and frost elemental resists come out at 42% each, stamina and health fortifys are +70 each (so I've got +140 stamina for 2 peices) magika and restoration on the helm. I've been desperately looking for a another potion so I can do my gloves and axe but haven'y found one yet :(. I'm using the spellbreaker shield which is awesome i have to say (creates a ward that stops magic up to 50 points).

It does mean I am now stupidly powerful and hard to damage, previously I was getting owned by mages, but not any more), giants take about 3-5 hits and thalmor soldiers are either 1 hit or 2 (if i land the sprint power attack which also crits, its an instakill most of the time), thats without axe enchantments yet (Stat on the axe says 90 damage, but I still have to put perks in one handed) I'm already on expert but it's still too easy, gonna have to up it to master. FOR GONDOR!!

PS: anyone know if there is a damage cap? I won't put anymore perks into one handed if there's already a cap.

Admittedly I could be wrong, but just looking at how the bar rises while in combat vs out of combat, it looked obvious to me.

If you level smithing/enchanting to 100 each, it's stupidly easy even on Master.

It's recommended you avoid those, but guess it's too late for you!

I don't mind feeling powerful, but yeh you can make yourself TOO powerful. I want to enchant the axe with +28 stamina absorb and +23 shock damage, with 100 charges. That requires a +25 enchant potion though, so I really need to find another one. Running out of stamina is the only real issue I'm having. I made a ring and amulet that buff lickpicking and carry weight, which I can swap to either when picking or if i'm encumbered after a dungeon crawl. Still yet to find anything that buffs sneak and pickpocketing to disenchant (can't seem to use the thieves guild stuff). I really struggle with those 2 and would like to make a swap out set of gear that buffs them.

Well ive reached 100 smithing even though i wasnt trying, now the question is - do i deck myself out in Deadric armour and weapons, looks awesome but does Deadric stuff drop from anywhere?

When you give the dragonstone back and leave the room, suddenly they recieve word of a dragon attack elsewhere..you can't miss it if you gave the mage the stone.

Oops...think I sold it in Whiterun or Riverwood, since I found it doing the Golden Claw quest. Whilst out hunting deer, I came across some soldiers at the western watchtower, who ran off to fight a dragon that never arrived - would explain the lack of dragons.

Have found a glitch too - my archery skill shows as 25 (and red), yet the perks show the true value of 44. Did level up from 9 to 11 in one swoop, and had 4 perks to allocate.

I've never seen any, kit yourself out in daedric then improve it to legendary whilst wearing smithing improving armour and drinking a +50 smithign potion.
