The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Level 50.

Mage guild quests complete.

1 quest of the Companions complete.

4 Main story quests complete.

2 Teef guild quests complete.

1 Dark Brotherhood quest complete.

LOADS of side missions complete, 10 shouts unlocked and over 20 dragons killed.

And there is still so ******* much to do :D

Does the Dark Brotherhood quests impact any other quests? I've killed a number of named NPCs, and at least one of them gave me a quest earlier in the game...just wondering if its a bad idea to join them so early on!?

Breaks the ability to start "Blood on Ice" quest (Windhelm) because one of your Dark Brotherhood victims is the victim that also triggers that quest. No known fix so far.

I actually think that sword and shield combat is very good tbh. not so much dual-wielding, as you leave yourself too open but i suppose that is how it is balanced.

I haven't actually tried shield yet, but feel I should at some point (at the very least to level up my block).

Personally I'm a big fan of Right Hand sword, Left hand hold and heal spell.

Charge in, hold down right button whilst slashing away with left :) Great fun :)

I have tried dual wielding a couple of times, and am a bit disappointed... Short of your press both buttons power attack, they never seem that in sync with each other. Actually it's true of the whole system. I guess the lack of slash realism at some points is criticised, but I feel it's more notable when you're dual wielding.

In normal combat, you often (not as much as previous TES' - but does still occur), get splashes of blood when you think you hit air, and no damage done when you basically carve the guy in half... This is something that I'd love to see fixed slightly, and improved upon. For Duel wield, the thing is it just seems so clumsy. Basically, it just seems like you're an ambidextrous person, attacking with your left hand, and then with your right, rather than a succinct, uber duel kind of attack. Don't get me wrong they did it nicely for spells, but yeah with swords, it just doesn't quite seem to be as smooth as I'd like. It also does yeah, leave you remarkably vulnerable (especially in light armour)

Loving the game so far.

Playing on ultra, enjoying a steady 60FPS at all times nearly outside on my rig.

Although what gets on my nerves are stupid drops to 50-45 FPS or a bit lower in towns. Anyone else gets this on Ultra while having a decent rig?

Also, does anyone know of any upcoming performance patches ?

Playing on Beta nvidia driver.

Started anew with a wood elf specialising in the standard sneak and archery, after messing up my mages dragonscale armour! I'll no doubt come back to it at some point but I got really annoyed with it! :(

Loving playing this way though. Just like how I played Morrowind and Oblivion and doing much more spelunking because of it! Might actually do the main quest on this one as well, seen as I was getting onto level 50 and hadn't even been to see the Greybeards on my other save :D

45-50?
That's pretty good.
I drop from 60 down to 25-35 in some town areas, using a 560Ti. Using the beta driver.

Really wish I'd just left everything alone. I was using a 260 with an older 270.61 driver and a steady consistent framerate. Now I get hideous extreme fluctuation... :(

I'm playing a heavy armor 2 hander barbarian. All I do is run and dodge missiles then spamming the attack button, no skill really :p

I do wish the combat was more varied because I can either do a strong hit or I can do quick hits and thats about it :( I can't really throw in magic unless I want to pause the game (quick menu) everytime I want to use magic. It then removes my 2 hander because I need both hands for the weapon... which is obvious.

The criticals are pretty good, again not much variety. I was thinking about doing a mod of it. When you take your sword and smack it into the mouth of some creature, say a bear, I expect to rip through at least some of the bear and see its organs spill out... hmmm, that would be good :)

Probably do a mage on my next play through.

560Ti here aswell mate.

Outside 90% of the time its 60FPS (Vsync is on obviously) but I just hate the drops in towns. It's just when you get used to 60FPS smoothness and enter a town, the satisfaction kinda drops.

Hoping for some fixes

I'm a couple of hours in not done the main quest just doing side quests and I'm on level 3.
My right hand is used for my fire spell and my right is for a sword or mace it seems to work.
how can I find my fps in game?

"Blood on the Ice" is a broken quest anyway - at least it is for me. I now have a permanent tenant in my house who tries to stab me in the face everytime I come home.
