Kitten microwaved to death!

What i'm getting at isn't so much that they should have "protected status" like a human, but more that the person who does the deed should be looked at for what they've done rather than what it was to. I know you can't take someone to court saying "you killed a cat in the street with a gun, that's like killing a person, life sentence!" that'd be stupid....i guess what i'm saying is they need to use common sense (HAHA) depending on the WAY a crime is commited, rather than what the crime was commited on.

Putting any animal in a microwave means you're a pretty sick and twisted person, my argument here is that because it was done to a cat shouldn't distract away from giving her the same punishment as to if it was done to a baby.

This sad excuse of a human being lives a couple of streets away from my in-laws.
Where my in-laws live is a fairly nice place, unfortunately a few streets away is a council estate where this sicko lives, full of special people.
The in-laws get no end of hassle from that estate.
I don't think they will send her to prison as she has a couple of little kids according the the paper.
Hopefully she will be mocked and harrassed by animal lovers for many years to come.

Not being funny or anything but does anyone ever stop and think of all the animals that are destroyed (not always painlessly) in the act of war? Or to clear forests? Or for food? Medicine/beauty product testing? Or because of the damage done to the planet?

yeah ok, during the vietnam war the americans didnt put animals in microwaves...but they did drop million of litres of Agent Orange over vast areas of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. I doubt that did the local animal population much good!

Humans are killed in the act of war too, most painfully, does this mean microwaving babies isn't as bad as people make out?

I'm not asking people to pontificate on here about what could be done. I'm asking people to do something in the real world to make things better for all concerned.

And that's massive speculation to just dismiss her as stupid.

What can we do in the real world eh. We live in a society which allows scummy people like her to exist and thrive unchecked until they actually commit a crime. There is no law against being a ***** person.

As much as I would love to believe that everyone is just waiting for the right "help" to sort out there issues I can't. Some people are just nasty examples of human beings and the amount of time, effort and money to change even a single one would make it pointless. There are so many people that you see every day that are just nasty, rude and violent with no apparent redeemable features.

I think that our apathy as a society has allowed these people to grow unchecked and to congregate into groups where their moral compass is dulled due to the general behaviour of the masses being taken as the acceptable norm.

Slightly different, as this isnt intentional, where as the woman form the OP obviously did mean it.

Its a sorry state when someone can do this to an animal, and then make up ridiculous stories to try and cover it up. It will be outrage if she doesnt go to prison.

She will get backed into a corner, change her story and admit guilt at the last minute. Thanks to our marvellous system that seems to think that if a person admits to a crime after being caught then they are showing remorse.

If someone hands themselves in for a crime then fair enough but to admit guilt once you know what the verdict will be takes the pee.

Justifying/watering down a wrong with another wrong is flawed logic, it also makes you come across as not caring or that bothered by this hanus crime, this says a lot about you and is a bit worrying to be honest!!

This woman deliberately and consciously put a kitten into a microwave where it experienced a unbelievably painful and horrendous death, the outrage here is FULLY justifiable and it is very worrying that even a few people seem indifferent/uncaring to this disgusting inhuman action!!

I suggest that people who are not sickened/upset by this seek professional help!!

How on earth could there be? Unless you're advocating thoughtcrime, I really don't see what solution you have in mind.

So we kill them? Or rape them? Or microwave them? Excellent.

Ah, so it's society's fault for marginalising people? Well, maybe society needs to get its arse in gear and reintegrate people into the real world. Make up your mind. One minute you're saying some people just suck and can never be helped, the next you're saying it's society's fault. Which is it?

Anger is worthless if you don't plan to do anything useful with it. I doubt anyone posting their rage-y fantasies has any such plans.

Disagree, it's function in here is to publicly reaffirm that a given example of behaviour is seen as disgusting.
The odd one or two who will say, point out it's just a cat, are then shouted down, again enforcing an expected reaction.

I think the idea is that numpties don't wander around with the idea that this kind of thing is OK or funny (as some of them do), if it is universally known that everyone's reaction will be to crucify them, then that is probably more effective than whatever the law says.

People are more influenced by the opinion of their neighbours than the law, especially as is likely in this case that she will get 4 months and a £100 fine.

I don't think you taking the role of Mr Reasonable is particularly helpful, public approbation is just as valid a solution as whatever you are suggesting.

But if everyone so clearly understands that it is disgusting behaviour, as people are implying, then who is the rage helping? If that is the case, then it's redundant.

I enjoyed that a MOD posted in here and didn't remove the comments nor ban the people who made them, I mean, wishing rape and an acid attack on a woman are hardly "Family friendly"

Yet, someone was suspended for not fully starting out a rude word. Brilliant.

No it isn't

Genocide is bad
Playing with matches is bad
Putting kittens into microwaves is bad

all these things keep happening because people forget what happened to the person who did that last time, the continual reaffirmation that people who microwave kittens are going to be crucified has a definite purpose.

Eventually we will get to the point where the next person has her finger poised over the power button, then she remembers that the last person who did that had battery acid chucked in her face, then she might change her mind.
Thus we have a system that influences the behaviour of people who don't care about what the law says or whose impulsives are antisocial.

What's the alternative, put them in a cell with an xbox and a copy of skyrim for 6 months?
