Kitten microwaved to death!

It is laughable that she's going to prison to spend her sentence playing on a games console.
Like I said, the implied point was one of public perception, how am I able to predict what her sentence (if any) will entail?
Prison is a horrible place, prison isn't easy and painting a picture of convicts sat around chilling on their consoles in false.
Again, not what I said?
You also provided two links, one laughable and the other pointing out that the majority of the people locked up in this country don't have a console.
an eye witness account with no reason to lie is laughable? I saw a pigeon in my tree today, equally possible and I have no reason to lie about that either. So yes my pigeon sighting is possibly laughable but equally pretty unlikey not to be true.
2nd point, I was only backing up the statement that consoles exist which you implied was false, I didn't think it warrented a usage survey as well.

Apparently we are debating two different perceptions of what was actually said :)

We agree that prisons are bad. My only implied suggestion was that the threat of prison is unlikely to stop the next impulsive person from doing the same thing. But being scared of what people think, might.

Its weird how posters on here condemned two prisoners killing a Paedo in jail... yet advocate the killing of someone for 'allegedly' microwaving a cat.

I wonder what these people would do if they saw a bandwagon rolling down their street :D

Indeed.

Your joke was terrible though :p

She claimed that the microwave was accidentally turned on by one of the cats after the kitten got inside.

I cannot see how the kitty could get into the microwave and the other cat be able to shut the kitten in there and put it on a program to start cooking?!

Woman is crazy!

I enjoyed that a MOD posted in here and didn't remove the comments nor ban the people who made them, I mean, wishing rape and an acid attack on a woman are hardly "Family friendly"

Yet, someone was suspended for not fully starting out a rude word. Brilliant.
Not to mention they still left the quotes.

Wont anyone think of the children.

I wasn't being serious, your sarcasm detector has malfunctioned. It was more the fact that Tummy was knocking my comment yet not another comment which was equally as over the top as you would put!

I didn't see it. Simple as that, else I'd have picked up on it.

However, TANK in over the top reaction to cat abuse thread shocker.

Sarcasm or not, it wasn't funny and didn't come across sarcasm :p and smiles next time ;)

The forum wants to be "family friendly" so should have removed the quotes, indeed. You were allowed to get away with it :)

Tummy anyone would think you're trying to get me suspended if not a much harder punishment?

No, it just raises the issue of consistency up that's all.

We had a guy suspended (two infact) on the basis of swearing in this thread, but wishing rape and acid thrown in the face don't get you suspended on a "family forum".

Just find it funny that's all. Swearing is a naughty thing to do, but wishing acid thrown in someones face and for them to be raped are okay.

I guess the mods are over the top animal lovers as well Tummy who knows. In future just for you if I decide to enter a thread similar to this one and leave an opinion, I'll bare you in mind with lashings of flowers and Care Bears before posting. :)

Won't get four years. You can get less for murder.

Suspect it will be a fine (compensate for the pet), a bit of community service, and maybe just maybe, some jail time. Hopefully she'll get a record, and obviously a very bad reputation.

Of course... it's all just guesswork till the case ends, as it is just alledged.

While not condoning mob violence or vigilantism, she will have to look over her shoulder for a very very long time now. People know who she is and what she has done. Hell hath no fury like an animal rights (or pet lover) activist. Might make her regret things when she has her windows panned in for the tenth time.

I'm not normally one for overreacting in an animal cruelty thread but this truly is shocking. It's one thing to put a cat in a bin but totally another to put it in a microwave and cook it alive.

I also find it abhorrent that there's a chance she might not get a custodial sentence for this, personally I think four years should be the absolute minimum (for good behaviour, guilty plea, etc.) and whilst you'd get less for murder, that to me suggests a problem with murder sentencing, nothing else.

Maybe not even that, the last one to do this (Stephen Stacey) got a suspended sentence and a few weeks curfew. That'll learn him...

The worst bit was some RSPCA plonker making out that the court had somehow 'recognised the serious nature of the offence'

I think you have to judge these things on whether an average person would feel that justice had been served, clearly nobody but the idiot RSPCA guy felt it had.
If Stacey had been given a working over by somebody at the time and the press had publicised it, I reckon this cat would still be alive.
Microwaving cats is just some Internet joke now, everyone knows you can do it and walk free.

Cat was used as a tool to get revenge, I think that is more sick than someone acutally doing it for fun.

People like this in every country but how many actually do it (animal in a microwave). Few people a year compared to how many rape or commit murder.

She should be sent to prison to make her think about what she has done but 4 years, people don't get that for murder/rape.

I have to 'let go' when I hear or read about terrible things like this, if I didn't I could and most likely would get quite depressed over it. Very, very sad. The only slightly consoling aspect is that now at least the poor kitten's agony is over. No more suffering.
