The Walking Dead Season 2.

For one of the most key elements of the show they sure do screw up the zombies in this series. Oh look, suddenly there are zombies in the shop, suddenly they're in the street, suddenly they're behind you, suddenly they're everywhere!

I know TV shows play dumb, but this is ******* stupid. You would smell them! Hear them! See them!

I feel this problem has been amplified in season 2 and if this season wasn't paltry at best already this is enough to send me off the edge in hysterical laughter whilst trying to watch the show!

zombies coming out of nowhere, zombies coming out of nowhere, zombies coming out of nowhere, zombies coming out of nowhere, zombies coming out of nowhere, zombies coming out of nowhere,

I'm actually considering giving up on this, season two has been such a disappointment = (

Bad bits so far for me...

Probably been said before, but I swear in the first season the zombies could smell the humans? And the only way to get past them was to cover themselves in zombie juice. Yet in the opening episode of season two they just hide under cars?!

Also... To reiterate the guy above. The zombies in same scene come from the direction they just came?! Surely they would've just passed them on that motorway lol.

What annoyed me the most though was how Shane just flipped (I'm guessing he'll take his own life at some point to save the others so that he redeems himself)... There was no real build up, one minute he's helping out, the next he shots some guy leaving him as bait.

Really? That was probably my favourite bit of the season so far, it was good character development and although I called it before it happened, it was still good to see a dark side from him. How did you expect them to build up to it? I thought it was the perfect way to exhibit his dark and evil side.

Lets bear in mind that this is a guy who left his own best friend for dead by shacking up with said friend's wife, and then let's consider whether it's really out of character for him to shoot someone he never knows in the leg for his own survival.

Hint, the answer is no.

TBF he thought Rick was dead when he left him in the hospital as the power had gone and Ricks life support went with that power and he did try but he knew that he was pretty much dead already and wouldn't have made it (and technically he really shouldn't have) let alone got Rick and himself out.

I personally am loving season 2 so far, yes it has been very slow the first few episodes, however the last few have been great and enough action for me and I think that it is just going to get better and better and the last few episodes I think are going to be great and the whole missing girl storyline for ages has been done for a reason and you will know that yourself if you looked at the spoiler on the last page and notice the area where she is.

As for the way people are reacting on the show, would we all be so different in that world surrounded by the dead, no luxuries, supplies etc., having to worry about the family 24/7 especially if you have young kids with you as well? Would you want to move away from that farm knowing how isolated it is and virtually no walkers, with plenty of water, shelter etc. or rather be on the road in the city where the dead practically live and have your paths blocked or be surrounded etc.? (yes the last part being in the city, would be more entertaining, but the show isn't about non stop zombie action, brains being blasted non stop, it is about how the characters cope in this type of world)

And granted there are some big plot holes as mentioned, but just remember it is a TV show :p

Enjoying it so far..

Is it just me who loves Dale? I find his face and expressions extremely amusing, aswell as the way he talks.. Maybe i'm easily amused.

He and Glenn have to be my fave characters with that godddammmned girl being my least favourite by far.

This, finding Shane quite intresting character this seasons aswell.

I think it was more the point that 'alive' people didn't smell of rotten flesh, so if a walker saw them and they didn't smell funky, they were good to eat.

As an example, chuck 2 steaks, one rotten and the other fresh on your living room carpet. A person entering the room will be able to tell which is the good steak.

Next time, chuck the rotten meat on the carpet and hide the good meat behind the sofa. The person coming into the room will not even know the good meat is hidden there.

Its probably a massive flaw, but that's how I explained it! :D

Dale does have some great facial expressions!

I hate Glenn now, he is so bloody annoying since he got his end away with that girl.

But when the good steak gets scared and makes a noise, revealing its position, I will know its there.

Then the steak will run away and go missing for 7 episodes :(

They are the best two characters by far!
I hate ricks wife I want her to be eaten.

Same, I don't like the women at all well apart from the blonde one now after last episode! :p

And indeed, Dales facial expressions are hilarious especially when he was talking to shane about Andrea! :D

Not keen on Rick at all really, he comes across as too good and the one who is always right and makes the best decisions, when he really doesn't and the way he portrays the character does my head in sometimes.

Shane and Daryl are my favs at the minute!

The thing is about them staying at the farm is that it doesn't show them surviving in a new and hostile world. As you've mentioned there are no walkers by the farm (yes the barn) and for the most part life at the farm is the same as it would have been before the outbreak.

I don't want to see 45 minutes of gunning down hordes of zombies, that would be dull and if i wanted that i'd go and watch something like Dawn of the Dead. I would however like to see 45 minutes of people surviving in a zombie filled environment. The farm is just..boring tbh.

The Walking Dead has strayed to far into soap opera territory. The real shame is that it's not the only show of late to do that. It seems tv execs nowadays will be given a great new or existing IP to work with and just slap a big soap opera sticker on it 'because it's what sells'.

I would like to see Shane shoot Dale in the face for being such a interfering old git, and then chuck old Hershel Greene in the barn for being a fruitcake . I very much doubt this will happen but would liven the plot up would it not?

If it was Daryl then yeah, he would. But I just couldn't see Shane killing that guy in cold blood... I'm not saying it was wrong of them to make him turn that way, I just felt it was too soon or needed another reason imo.

I can see your point, but life still isn't the same really, you don't have the luxury of TV, PC, games :p But more importantly knowing what it is like outside, knowing that pretty much everyone you knew is dead and that they could be the only ones alive in America amongst a few others etc.

At first I thought that as well after episode 1, that if this is just going to be about their new farm life and searching for the girl every day for a few hours then this will be pretty boring, however the last few episodes have been great and are leading up to big things now

- shane, dale and andrea storyline
- rick and his wife and shane
- Hershel and his people and what is going to happen with ricks people etc. especially after you know what from that spoiler pic....

etc.

and I don't know if you have seen the spoiler pic? But the whole girl missing girl story line seems like it has been worth it, it all needs to be explained as to how, what, when etc. and hopefully should be very interesting.

Yeah i've seen the spoiler pic.

If i were to read between the lines, the only reason the Sophia storyline has been dragged out so long is because they want a mid season cliffhanger tbh.

The farm just bores me.

I just wish they'd get on with things and someone would open the barn and let all the walkers out, i bet it will be Sophia's grief filled mother who does it and ends up killing herself in the process

I'll be honest, i don't care about Shane or Andrea, i find them to be entirely forgettable characters. The same goes for Lori. It's all a field of cliches and stereotypes thats been done to death before (and far better).

It's funny that the most enjoyable characters in the show are the redneck that isn't really as thick as he looks, the guy who could pass for a pensioner and the socially inept twenty something. If either Daryl, Glenn or Dale were to die i'd actually care. Any of the others..nom nom nom for the zombies.

I just find the show frustrating at the moment, sci fi and fantasy on tv has just gone from bad to worse during 2011.

- On a minor note, i think Hershel is pretty deluded, thinking he can decide whether they can stay or not. His 'group' is hardly dangerous and they would be overpowered easily by the other survivors.
