In all the BF games, i've never used a headset for comms. Am i really missing out?
I think the only time i used it was back in the day and once you were killed you could tell your teammates where the enemy that just killed you was, which is basically cheating. Is it still like that?
If so, that just negates all kinds of teamwork and fair play

Get on mumble tonight its much more fun and the team players better when on comos ;)

since when has communicating your enemies movements been cheating ?

Thats what team play is all about ? thats what battlefield is all about !

Yeah, i guess i just don't get it then. I mean if you're dead, then you shouldn't be able to communicate, until you respawn. Then you can close in on the enemy, not have them taken out as soon as you type "they're over here!".

But, i guess if you can't beat em, you gotta join em.
Might give it a whirl.

Like I said in my earlier post....on mumble, aren't all players, regardless of which side you're on, all bundled into one channel ? Making telling yr team where the guy who killed you is...cos then he will just run off as soon as he is grassed up ?

do you split into channels for diff squads on mumble then? a lot of my mates are playing skyrim and Im always pushing the BF3 play, would be good to know there is a place i can get soem good squad work going - medic here with a passion for the paddles!

Why shouldn't you ?

What significance does being dead have on whether you should be able to chat or not ? You'd only tell people where the guy who shot you is when you respawned anyway.

If you were sat next to each other in the same room, you'd be able to talk at any time, this is no different. Look at the voice comms on Xbox live and PS3. You can talk to friends across different games and on every game at anytime.

That's half the fun ! It's like an Internet game of cat and mouse :D

But as said sometimes you can switch into different channels so the opposing team can't hear you! If you prefer

H4X!

Lol, i know, i know. Call me and old fool, but i just styill think its a bit cheaty. I don't console game, so wouldn't know about that stuff.
My point about telling teammates where your killer is/was once respawned is that at least the killer has a fair chance to move (in the time it takes you to respawn), not immediately once you're dead.

I think it was TacOps (UT mod) that muted your chat voice when you were dead, which i thought was good.

This! It's sometimes more fun all being in the same channel as the banter is fantastic.

But on the Smogsy server you generally have a large smattering of OcUK and UKCS guys. OcUK in their mumble and UKCS in theirs, so you can be apart from others in the opposition team.

It is used the world over.....do it, you will see your game play improve 10x.

If your not using it...someone else will be, its the corner stone of competitive gameplay!
