Yay :D

No crashing, smooth frame rates cpu temps maxed at 66C and I killed my first Jet!.

Note to self, using the mouse while flying sucks stick to keyboard

When I see the turns other pilots pull I don't see how to turn the plane that hard.
AD

I find alternating with the throttle while turning gives the best results when trying to do some tight turns.
A little bit of the brake, followed by the increase throttle trigger button allows me to stay on the enemy i am trying to shoot down.

A great map for aircraft which i now dont even bother getting into is Operation Firestorm but getting into a jet on there and 9 times out of 10 the game will crash.
Finding the stinger to still be useful, get the odd kill but mostly assists, which is fine by me. Like everything in BF3, timing is the key.

I wish the interface could be a bit more friendly in game. Some silly decisions. Like why the game forces you to watch the killcam.

I joined a server the other day and needed to set some control binds. Whilst I was in the options menu and about to change them, someone killed me. The game closed the options menu, didn't save the binds I just made and was like "Hey, this guy just killed you, look at his stats and the cool guns he is using!". I dont care. Let me go back to what I was doing please!

Hate being made to watch the same screen for most of my respawn time as well. That's time I'd rather use to adjust my loadout so I can deploy as soon as possible.

It would be nice if you could adjust your loadouts in Battlelog ready for when you get in game too.

Aren't the ranked rules more just about the gameplay settings?

The way I always saw it was that if they're paying for the server then it's their rules, if I don't like that then I go somewhere else.

Welll EA doesnt take that view because you are very much not allowed to do what you want with the server.

If you want to host a ranked server, and have it listed in the server browser, and have people playing on it, then you have to have the games set up a certain way.

You can't have more than 32 players on rush, you cant't have the rules set up any way you want, its all set up to deliver a constant experience to the players.

Which is not in keeping with server admins kicking anybody that gets in "their" plane, or kills them in a way they don't like.

The whole server hosting thing can be traced back to halflife and Quake . That had a very open server structure that enabled you to host your own server and do what you want with it.

But in those days multiplayer gaming was in its infancy, there werent millions of people queuing up overnight to play DICE's next big shooter, all of them with broadband connections wanting to play multiplayer.

Times have changed.

Times have changed.

Oh I know they have fixed settings for players etc. but at the end of the day there's not a lot you can do if the admin is being an arse. Technically EA may demand that the admin can't do this or that but when they're capable of kicking or remote killing players using legit admin commands then practically there's not much you can do but follow their rules or change server.

Sadly not

EA have stopped access to the server files being accessible (like it was in BF2 and in Halifelife etc..) to stop server admins having the power to change the game experience to one the player doesn't expect, and to try and keep it as a single level playing field.

Thats why you can't host a BF3 server if you have a dedicated server because you can't have root access to anything. The most BF wants you to have is admin rights on somebody else's server.

But if you then use those admin rights to kick players for stupid reasons ...

Grey area territory.

I don't have the DLC and probably won't be getting it because of the glaring(/bluntly) issues with the game that DICE are ignoring, as time goes on I think this game might die faster than bc2.
