Which forum member or members do you admire?

Glaucus, who through apotheosis became a minor greek god of the sea...helped Menelaus find his way home and was responsible (but can't remember how) for Scylla being turned from a beautiful Sea-Nymph into the six-headed monster of greek myth...

Maybe Acidhell is seeking godhood....;)

Well I never, here was me thinking he was named after a sea slug.

I quite like the posts of Fox, Dolph, Glaucus, Stulid and Britboy (RIP)

Believe it or not there are quite a few people that post down in the Football Stadium that I have quite a lot of time and respect for, but a few (which will be very obvious to anyone that's seen me in there) that I just don't have time for.

I like some other posters too, people like Magnolia, Fox, Cast, Tefal are the ones that spring to mind straight away, Bled is a really top guy too.

Oh, and incase they read this, K1LLSWITCH and Robbo and Shayper are all good guys too :)

I don't for a second think I'm at all popular :D

Forgot Skippi, he's a proper top guy too.

I much prefer Nitefly. In fact I'd say it's one of the better usernames on the forum.

Nitefly is iconic though......

Why thank you!

I guess the name has goodwill - when you see it you know you it's time to strap up for a pinch of thoughtful insight, a cheeky dash of galactic japery and an extra value sized bag of absolute nonsense.

Actually, I think it's time to go old school with the sig...

Robbo - because he owns so many damn mobile phones, is generally quite knowledgable, has a GREAT choice of football team and his ability to wind up Android users...

FTFY. :p

cheets64, because he is from Wigan, you've gotta admire him for that lifelong commitment to poor results, poor judgement and pies.

Castiel & Acid for having enough time to argue their point till they're blue in the face, long after most users have moved on to the next thread.

drunkenmaster for his ability to regurgitate long winded analysis of Arsenal's problems. or any team/player for that matter.

he may well be.......maybe he will clear it up.

It's a bit of everything, as you know I'm interested in mythology and religion.
Ah sod it, copy and paste time.

It's a Greek mythology deity.
According to Ovid, Glaucus began life as a mortal fisherman living in the Boeotian city of Anthedon. He discovered by accident a magical herb which could bring the fish he caught back to life, and decided to try eating it. The herb made him immortal, but also caused him to grow fins instead of arms and a fish's tail instead of legs (though some versions say he simply became a merman), forcing him to dwell forever in the sea. Glaucus was initially upset by this side-effect, but Oceanus and Tethys received him well and he was quickly accepted among the deities of the sea, learning from them the art of prophecy.

It's also a very cool sea slug.

Glaucus atlanticus (common names sea swallow, blue glaucus, blue sea slug and blue ocean slug) is a species of small-sized blue sea slug, a pelagic aeolid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Glaucidae. This is the only species in the genus Glaucus,[1] but is closely related to Glaucilla marginata, another member of the family Glaucidae.

G. atlanticus is able to feed on P. physalis due to its immunity to the venomous nematocysts. The slug consumes the entire organism and appears to select and store the most venomous nematocysts for its own use. The venom is collected in specialized sacs (cnidosacs), on the tip of their cerata, the thin feather-like "fingers" on its body.[6] Because Glaucus stores the venom, it can produce a more powerful and deadly sting than the Man o' War upon which it feeds.

As well as a few other cool things like glaucus of Chios.
Glaucus of Chios invents soldering of iron.
"His gifts, which he sent on recovering from his sickness, were a great bowl of pure silver, with a salver in steel curiously inlaid, a work among all the offerings at Delphi the best worth looking at. Glaucus, the Chian, made it, the man who first invented the art of inlaying steel". Herodotus, Book 1.

Edit - just realised I've posted several times with out actually answer the question.

Burnsy2023 and jonny69 to be pointed out and big_blue for his epic food threads.
