Yup that's way too far away from me, never gonna make it down there myself. Will let my brother in law know about it though as he's from Glasgow.

Only rubbish shops round my parts, the Specialized one in Ruislip is ok i guess...

Example, Dalby is the best one ive ridden, as its the only one ive been to lol and even then it didnt end well lol as Ichabod would agree with lol. Fitness wise and lack of riding skill plus new forks which i didnt have setup fully at that time, led to an impressive crash.

Ichabod Crane took great pleasure in pointing out to me where you crashed. :D

Dalby is the best trail center I have ridden in England. But I only have Whinlatter, Thetford and Bedgebury to compare it against.

Balls :( i knew it would get talked about, ah well i blame the forks as they werent set up and somehow i blew the travel and well you know the rest. In the 5 times ive been back i havent done it again so its all good :) Might of been a rock involved aswell, but with no travel left it just flipped me over the bars in a somewhat olympic winning fashion from what i remember. (which isnt a lot actually lol)

Have you just started working there then or were you just posting the new place up?

Never met Gary myself but here the name a lot due to my boss,Stephen Russell, racing the road bikes.

Think he phoned the shop one day looking for a Felt mech hanger if I remember correctly.

I'm jealous to say the least :p I dream of having an SPD display like that....and the one that has 3 different pedals on it to show....:o:D

I'll fly by once this winter is past I think. Pretty limited with the light at the moment.

I hate going into bikeshops and they think you're some sort of spy sent in to find out secrets. Used to like going into different shops to see all the different brands.

Bike shops are strange places I'll say that much :p

can you post a review or some comments on how you find the 29er compared to 26er as very interested to hear first hand info about them....

canyon 29ers sadly arent avalible till.......March:eek:

Went up to golspie on the 29er today. Its great, the big wheels roll over things so much easier. Makes a huge difference on climbs with rock steps or roots. It was also much more stable when going fast. There are parts of the descent at golspie with large, lose rocks so when you're going fast down those bits, the big wheels help. But there are also more technical parts of the descent over large boulders and rock steps. Its more difficult to muscle the wheel where you want it to go. When you start to go off line its harder to correct and force the bike back on track. I found it more difficult to get round low-speed tight bends, like hairpins on the climbs but a little easier on faster corners with berms because it feels more stable when your going fast.

Overall, i think that i like the big wheels so much because i am quite big (6'1) and fairly strong to push the bike around. I also do a lot of road riding so im used to bigger wheels.
I think that lighter people who are not as strong would struggle on a 29er, but everybody else should get one.
