The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

am i right in thinking that pretty much everything you encounter in the wild is hostile? i tried to talk nicely to a giant and he smashed me in the face, same with some other npc's. is it more advisable to operate a kill on sight policy given that i'm a ranged guy with a bow?

There are some who aren't enemies and are needed for quests. Its strange they haven't added something on your reticule to say if they are enemies, like they have in Fallout.

After installing those AMD 11.11a's I am seeing randomly missing textures in-game for some objects. (Trees and khajits :p)

using some form of detect life (either the alteration spell or the shout) can be useful as it shows friendly targets and hostile targets as different colours.

Do 11.11b drivers bring any improvement over 11.11a for single card users?

It's not entirely clear from the changelog.

As i said earlier since using them my FPS now dips to around 30 at the lowest in towns, whereas before it could go as low as 15. It was very annoying particularly in Markarth which appears to be the worst for my FPS, but now that never goes below 28ish. I still get constant 60fps everywhere else no matter what is happening on screen(v-sync on).

It is rather annoying when you go up to someone all friendly with your weapon holstered and they try to skewer you just because they didn't like they way you smiled :(

If they don't want visitors they should at least put up signs.

Giants won't attack you, even if they detect you, until you get too close to them.

The best way I've found to tell the difference between friend and foe, is to go into sneak mode and fire an arrow near them. If they're enemies, red dots will appear on the radar, the detect eye will open a little, and the enemies will start looking around for you. If they're friendly, they'll just ignore it.

This game just keeps on giving.

Just done most of the thieves guild questline and the dwemer dungeon is incredible. This game is just ridiculous. I've got two characters (one level 43 the other 26) and the furthest I've got in the main story is getting to High Hrothgar!

I got bored after 45ish hours with my sword and shield character, playing the normal way not that 100smithing stuff. Back to playing other games now I guess, all my quests just feel like chores
