***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Hmmmm I suppose i don't know why I keep going to youtube for videos of the Nokia Lumia, I'm drawn in by the new software for me. I'm going Westfield on wednesday so hoping at least one of the stores has the nexus for me to have a play on! The missus is getting an iphone 4s (yes i've tried to convince otherwise) decisions decisions.

Does anyone know if it is possible when using lightflow to cancel the notification light with a swipe away of the notification? If I do that at the moment it carries on flashing.

There doesn't seem to be the option in the settings to do this.

Apparently Samsung are looking to push the official update over wifi/3G before the end of this week (from a guy that works at Samsung).

I presume that it will come from Google as they will probably have a few OS fixes included.

I think o2 doesnt want my money...Ive tried to buy nexus from them 6 or 7 times...everysingle time there was a info saying that they have problems...tough...

Just spoken to O2 on the live chat thing. My nexus will be delivered on Wednesday and will have the fix for the volume bug :) This is the first time they have actually acknowledged the problem when i've asked them about it.

Hi all,

With my Samsung Galaxy SII, I used to use the following 12v car socket to USB adaptor found here and the standard MicroUSB cable to charge the phone whilst using it as a sat nav.

As you can see from the specification page, the Griffin adaptor provides 5v @1amp and the Galaxy SII would fast charge as if it were plugged into an AC adaptor at home.

  • Works in your vehicle's 12 volt power outlet
  • Charge 2 USB devices at the same time
  • SmartFuse circuit-breaker protection means no fuses to replace
  • Super-compact form factor
  • 5 watts per port (5 volts @ 1 amp)

However, the Galaxy Nexus sees it as being charged via USB and as a result, loses charge when being used as a sat nav despite being plugged in.

Does anyone know why there's a difference between the Galaxy SII and Galaxy Nexus? :)

i don't why, but i noticed my old in car charger from my SGS2 did not charge my phone while using sat nav, or keep it evens, it depleted

I rooted it as soon as I got it, as rooting would wipe your phone.

yeah i wish i had now, im gonna ride the week out and hope for the google fix that has been mentioned as coming this week on XDA. if nothing is announced by the weekend i will root and do the dev fix.

FU google!

Honestly, it's a miracle anyone has one at all with the complete fubar Samsung made launching this thing.

This camera isn't better than my old Galaxy S camera. Oh well, instant capture, flash and 1080p video is an improvement, sort of. 1080p24 really does suck with a bit of stutter and increased rolling shutter. I may actually do all videos at 720p30.

Seems the o2 site has been mostly broken all day. They changed the style of the switch o2 account page earlier, since then I've not been able to access Myo2, instead it dropping me to the login, even though it says I'm logged in at top.

The page appears to have since been reversed and I can access Myo2, but all of the info is "Sorry about the delay. We're working on it now.". I just wanna see if they have shipped my phone! :(

EDIT: Site seems to be working now, so you should be able to order, though it's apparently still out of stock despite being told it'd be in today :(

Well, I've had my Galaxy Nexus just over a week now. At first I wasn't that impressed with it but have really grown to love it! I was coming from an SG2 so that may be why i wasn't impressed straight away. Took a little getting used to, hardware/touch keys.

I've not had a single crash or reboot, battery life in standy is really good. In use I don't think it's as good as the SG2 but I'm sure it will get better with updates as the SG2 did.

The physical design of the Nexus is better than the SG2, it's much better to hold and doesn't feel heavier to me.

Once auto brightness is turned off, the screen is really good.

I'm on Orange so have never experienced the volume bug. Apart from some apps needing an update for ICS, the only issue/annoyance I have, is word prediction not working in browser.

All in all, really happy with this phone and can see me having it for a long time to come.

I had exactly this when I was trying to do the same thing.

Done the same, spoke to "Danny" who first said the phone is out of stock, then said it's in stock. He then said it says out of stock on my order but in stock on system. I asked if I'd get it for Wednesday and he said yes.

Here's hoping! :)
