need a cheap serie a striker, found Cavani to be terrible this year as a target man, and Pato is better for pace and shooting.

i mean cheaper the better, as im selling my brazil team and my ligue 1 team, to go Serie A with Silva and Ibra, so i need to conserve my coins.

Miccoli, Milito, Forlan, Cisse, Klose

who would you choose as an all rounder?

im thinking Cisse, but Forlan has amazing shooting 88, but he had the same last year and was quite frankly pants at everything apart from finesse outside the box.

he's quicker than Johnson, better in the air than Johnson, and has the same defending stats. Johnsons only better in shooting and passing.

I find that Walker loves to overlap too and swings in a pretty mean cross!

I'd say it's Walker > Johnson > Richards > Sagna.

Might have to try Walker out, I want to build an English/Prem team so I can find an excuse to use IF Beckham! :D

[Note to Tim, this is not replacing my main team, so don't ;p]

I love Pato, but finding him a value partner for a Serie A team is hard. I bought Cavani for 10K and he's been nothing but a let down. I've tried Pazzini, Miccoli and Abel Hernandez as well and I get the most joy out of Herndandez with his 90 pace - even though he's only 78 OVR.

yeah Cavani is nowhere as near as good as his stats suggest or what he is like in real life.

Ive came up against Cisse a few times and always found him a handful, so im going to try him out 2K is a bargain too, for 88 pace, 80 shooting and 80 heading and 6 foot tall. If Miccoli was slightly taller he would have got the nod.

I think I'll give him a try also and flog my Cavani. I was desperate to try him and Lavezzi. Paid 10K each for them, but just ended up disappointed.

Elia seems just as good as Lavezzi for me at LM.

Cavani is good, but not as good as i was expecting for the coins i paid. I think in this game the law of diminishing returns kicks in a lot. Some of the cheap players are outstanding bargains.

Fabio (GK), Dede, Carlos, Fanni, Sissokho (CDM), Menez are all worth a lot more than what they go for.

Kolo Toure has been outstanding too. I was surprised to see Steklenburg is only 5K and Buffon is like 10K and Cesar is 15K. When Steklenburg is on par with Buffon and Cesar is crap.

I found the same last year Anelka was one of the best striker you could buy and he was only a few K, this year he is average. Dzeko was a beast last year too, this year they have made him slightly worse, but still a bargain.

got 30K in the bank and over 100K on the market. next purchase will be Ibrahimovich for LS (move pato to RS). Then Silva for Lucio. Don't think i need any more coins, just need the stuff on the market to sell.

could sell IF Johnson but someone is trying to price fix him at 120K so im holding off until he gets price fixed, then sell, bring in richards and then use the 110K profit to purchase Yaya Toure for Song. should then leave me with a huge amount of coins to play with.

sold Brazil (no decent target man plus i needed Robhino, Pato, Maicon and Silva in my serie A team when i made it so best to sell now and build Serie A).

sold Frenchies (again no decent target man and the two CB albeit were good, i wanted better and there was no one better, if IF Sakho and IF M'Bia or IF Mexes come out, then i may re-build again)

yeah he is good at defending the wing, but crap for crosses due to his height, if the guy comes up the right wing and gets past your LB, and your CB gets pulled out wide, therefore your other CB moves across and then walker is defending the backpost = a clear header every time.

they need a combination of pace, defending and height.

therefore Richards > Johnson > Walker

if your talking about NON IF's only.

Walkers fine in the air Sonny, he has a better rating than Johnson. However, obviously won't be as good as Richards, but that mans a beast. He should be a CB really, a bit like Martin Kelly will be in future for Liverpool.

Walkers pace is immense, he covers so well around the back too, meaning that quick counters and balls over the top generally aren't a problem for him. He's probably, only one of two indespensible players I have in my team.

He's immense Dan:

93 pace
62 shooting
69 passing
77 dribbling
75 def
75 header

The pace means he just comes out of situations really easily and catches up to the faster players too. If he doesn't have accelseration in the mid 90's I'd be amazed.

Also likes to go forward a lot, so make sure your RW linsk well. Beckham would be fine for this I'd guess.

Think I have now realised 4-4-2 is not for me, and I need to stick with 4-2-2-2, I'm turning into Sonny.

Right, I need some tall, fast players..

Seriously though, currently have:

Aguero at ST
IF Balotelli, although he may get benched
David Silva - CAM
Gerrard & Yaya - CDM's

Trying to think of any possible hybrid backline, and with Silva not being the fastest was tempted to grab Young for LCAM.

Any thoughts? And I'll prob end up with the usual (best I can think of) EPL backlie consisting of Kompany, Walker/Richards, Jose Enrique & either David Luiz *spit* or vermaelen?

Good, pacy-ish EPL CB's are thin on the ground :(

You got IF Mario!

Try Silva as a striker if you plan on benching Mario.

David Luiz :)

Enrique and walker are musts for me. With Enqriue it gives you chance for a Pique and Casillas is that's your think. Won't link with the midfield (other than Silva) but you can throw Mata into midfield and make up the change

Something like:

--------------Reina-------------
Walker--Vermaelen--Pique--Enrique
---------Toure---Mascherano------
-----Silva--------------Villa----
----------Aguero--Torres-------
You'd obviously lose out between Vermaelen and Pique, but the rest links up with reina + Enrique same club + nationality and spanish contingent further up and Pique. Should be 100 Chem quite easily with the right manager.

Both CAMS link up as they play in same league + are spanish. The only weak link is Vermaelen really, who I don't rate.

Or Alonso instead of Masch perhaps.

picked up IF Johnson for 65k in 4-1-2-1-2 which i thought was a good price. him and IF Walcott on the flank could be interesting.

you need Song or Essien at CDM instead of Gerrard

Kolo Toure is amazing at CB, so is IF Johnson at RCAM if you like shooting from outside the box, or lethal at LCAM if you like crossing, i scored a screamer of a finesse shot with him the other day, i was going to save it, but i forgot when the game ended, so gay after i realised what i had done, it was a good 35 yards out (more than 2 lines outside the box).

in fact just take a look at my team above and replace IF Glen Johnson with Richards.
