The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Got a staff to summon a ghost wolf and a staff to summon some d somit or other warrior in cool black and red after doing the drunken mission.

That is the Sanguine Rose, comes in very handy as he is quite strong.

Great quest too.

Best is the Dragon shout that you get for doing the main quest, Dragon call which summons a dragon to fight for you!:p
There is also a dragon shout to summon a few warriors to fight for you taht you get for doing the main quest also

I havent used any of the other shouts, only the one that keeps the dragons on the ground, I guess if i was playing a more stealthy less armoured character they would come in handy, but Heavy armour and shield and sword i dont get chance to use them lol.
Currently rocking a mixture of Steel and Blades armour with the Blades sword that looks like a Katana, with a fire enchant on it.

I always find that if i use Dragonrend(shout which makes dragons land) i end up wasting a shout, as i always miss and then it lands anyway and i have to wait for it to recharge

I often miss aswell, but as you say they land shortly after , so i just hope and pray i can blast it while its still on the ground or just about to fly away, makes it a lot easier being able to keep them on the ground with the shout though.

I completed the College of Winterhold quests yesterday, tbh i didn't think it was the strongest questline though i am not that in to the magic side anyway really, i don't think i had previously out enough points/perks in to magic.

Amazing to think i am 80 hours in and i still haven't done any quests in the Thieves Guild/Companions/Dark Brotherhood/Civil war questlines and i still have loads of side/miscellaneous quests in my list!

I do think it is good that i completed the main quest earlyish as now i can go around exploring and doing side quests in a more casual way and also i am playing it more casually as well, so i have made some time for Arkham City too:D

Aye ive done the same, main quest done and attempting to finish the side quests, problem is im getting sent everywhere and just about anyone i talk to hands me a quest, so i go to a town/city to complete a quest, come back out with 5+ extra lol - just an endless supply so far, i hope they release a hotfix patch soon to fix whatever they broke or messed with.

Just killed krosis and got that cool mask. :) Took about 10 tries in all and 4 before i killed him that session using diff tactics, best advise if anyones stuck is get medium range use a bow with good arrows and find a rock to hide behind and sneak using cover then attack then cover tactics. Wore him out after 2 mins of doing that then near his death he stoped the fireballs and came at me but didnt do much.

^^ took me a few attempts to kill him, the mask is great and i used it for ages(especially as it is light so i kept my armour bonus) but its active effects are non-combat apart fom archery, i have found one much better now;)

I defintiely had to stick to medium range, and had to hide from him for a bit because my magic resistance was rubbish(still is), his fireball spell was powerful!

Does the magic skill have any bearing on magical resistance btw because i can still be kileld by some pretty weak enemies with magic?

Duno never touch magic myself. His fireballs i assume btw were from the staff he had which does 40 fire damage within a 15 feet radius so no wonder he was hitting me before even when his shots wernt accurate lol.

Oh and dont think about summoning things to help you fight it as he casts a spell which makes what you summon come after you. grr..

Additional. Found that the smithy at whiterun was selling a pair of elven boots with 20% bonus to sneak. :) Pricey at 2400 gold i think it was but i think it will be worth it as i do a lot of sneaking as i play as a stealth archer.

I never got that. I used a scroll to summon a storm atronach, which kept him busy whilst I pinged arrows at him.

Just got the new Skyrim update this morning over steam. Think it's the 1.2 update, but I haven't had a chance to try it out as I have work :/

I noticed mine had updated... even though I had set it to not update. I guess I will have to use the 4gb loader now instead of the patched exe. Well, when I actually play it again as Arkham City has my attention at the moment :D

Arrghh i take a couple of days break to decorate the house, and come back to a broken Skyrim :( was going to treat myself to some mindless slaying - CTD every time i fast travel or go into houses/inns etc :( Never did this before the patch.

I'm getting this as well but just with fast travel ... very annoying :/

Go into Steam and verifty the integrity of the game cache (go to the library, right-click on the game, click Properties). If your EXE was changed by a mod (4GB Skyrim or LAA) then it loops the launcher until you go into Steam and do that. After doing so, you need to re-apply whichever one of those mods you were using.

LAA semeed to continue working fine for me with 1.1 (after re-downloading it) and I assume will continue to work with 1.2 although for now I've left it disabled.

I haven't noticed any particular problems after updating *touches wood*

I am running the plain vanilla game, no mods at all other than any previous Bethesda updates. However I will give that a try anyway, it usually fixes Railworks...

Edit: Verify cache sorted but promptly reset the game back to using the XB360 controller from my preferred keyboard, just a good job I wasn't in the middle of combat!

I was using the Boots of the Old Gods which gives you the same, combined with the Gauntlets of the Olf Gods which gives 20%archery, sneaking around dungeons i was pretty deadly;)
Now i have found the Ebony boots of muffling which makes you silent whilst sneaking, i have to disenchant them so that i can put it on to some Light boots, then i'll be set:D

I am not playing it that much atm though, i am finding it better that way now that i have completed the bulk of it.

Morning, does anyone know if game save data is stored locally or in the steam cloud? i.e if i play on my laptop will it still be synched when i go back to my desktop?

Thx.
