***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Is it. Where did you get that snippet from?

It's somewhere in that giant thread on XDA (I think), or Paul O'Brien said so.

Someone said this -

@PaulOBrien been using that volume fix all day and it's working great. Thanks! Side note, still does funny things in bootloader

But people are talking about a new bootloader as well...

I don't know :p

Wow, what a phone.
I grabbed one at the weekend and I have to say, this phone takes Android to where it needed to be.
I've been running an SGS2 (work) and an IP4S (personal) side by side for a while and TBH the SGS2 was pretty poo compared to the IP4S. Bad battery life, unstable, poor resolution screen, bad browser etc etc. but this Nexus is something else. I absolutely love it.
The browser is excellent, the email client is great, the screen is sublime, it's fast, it feels nice in the hand and it even has decent battery life.

Top phone. Well impressed.

SGS2 :D

just a lol to your comments on the SGS2. You didn't like that's fair enough. Did you leave it stock - i.e. TW launcher?

Nope, I was using Launcher Pro. Ditched the TW stuff almost immediately.
It was my first Android phone and it really didn't leave me with a good impression at all.

The Nexus is much, much better.

I think that considering if you love the screen, the design and ICS, you could call this a lot better than the Galaxy S II.

You have to look at the overall experience rather than specific things in order to be objective, because that is what really matters.

I agree that for some the combination of the nexus's screen and ICS will make the phone better than anything before it.

But for me - an upgrade from the SGS2 to the Nexus doesn't quite seem the full ticket.

Slighty OT: Does anyone know with Orange if you upgrade early (1 month before the 3 month early upgrade) you have to pay the early upgrade fee when you upgrade by debit card or is it added to your mobile bill?

I want this phone now, and not on 5th January. :D

Fee will be remaining allowance * 2/3 for you I believe. Will be required upfront I think.

Edit

Let the fun begin !!!!

I have my fee (it's £85) but I just want to know when you have to pay it, and everytime I try to phone Orange I have to wait 10 minutes + to find out, and to be honest, I CBA. :D

I may just wait until January.

That's good news, however 500MB data is just not enough for me. I've been charged £20 in total over recent months for going over 500MB.

I'm due for an early upgrade with Vodafone in 2 weeks. If they can't give me at the very least 1GB of data, then I will be paying up my contract and leaving them.

Anyobe fund opening links from emails, to lets say different threads in a forum, end up stacking up on a sibgle tab instead of going to new tabs? Also that the page reloads everytime i go off the browser, to email and back. Really annoying as in webos i would open a bunch of links, it would open a bunch of fards (tabs). I would go do what ever and when i get back to tge browser, everythigs loaded ready to go.

That and if i multitask out of firefox, after a few seconds downloads stop and i have to restartthem
