Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay's 5th Studio Album

I was actually disappointed with the release. I counted about 4 decent tracks on the album.

The only track that stuck to me was Every Raindrop is a Waterfall and I already heard that months ago. To me, the whole thing is a bit of a failure I expect more from Coldplay and I am really disappointed. :(

I don't see the point of the 30 second fillers bar screwing up random selection, would prefer the tracks they link into being 10-15 seconds longer, also disappointed it wasn't slightly longer and moving to mars + don quixote included.

There's quite a few tracks I don't like bits of or just feel a bit "meh", still not liking UFO but the one track I thought I'd really dislike is princess of china, has all the bits I hate about other artists yet I can't stop listening to it. Loving Princess of China, Paradise, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Charlie Brown, Us Against the World, Up in Flames still growing but love the simplicity of it.

Stylewise the album to me sounds like the lovechild of X+Y and VlV. Could have been stronger though.

Well, your trolling aside, it does and doesn't sound like the same old coldplay as their style changes with each new album, this one is no different (although different at the same time).

Also, if you hate coldplay, why bother coming in here in the first place.

I think because the allure of people actually discussing coldplay as though they were serious musical artists is just too much for me. Really, though?.

Either way my original statement was true, trolling or not.

Having listedned to the album a couple of times, I find 2 or 3 very good tracks, a few mediocre ones and other mostly growers, similar to their 2 last albums. They've not topped their first 2 yet.

I'm just listening to it now. After VLV i'm not prepared to drop my money on Coldplay without sampling first, and I have to admit that i'm not struck on it at all.

For me, it was all about Rush of Blood and X&Y. X&Y in particular is one of my favourite albums of all time, absolute brilliance.

Mylo Xyloto, at first listen, doesn't appear to be anything even close.

Given your previous posts in this thread, your opinion means very little to me quite frankly. :)

I thought Paradise was a really good single, the first Coldplay song I have ever liked. I then back to their back catalogue but realised their past work really was just bland beyond belief to me.

Clocks and (I think) Speed of Sound are, to me, the exact same song. Same progression, same tempo, same repetitive piano loop. They drive me insane, such frustrating songs, no rhythm or dynamics at all.
