Glasgow: more than 50000 people dunk every evening...

This might come as a surprise to you, I have never been in hospital from drinking, you can go out drink all day and still end up not being sick or fighting.

Its all about education and self control. I can go out and drink 10 pints no danger and be polite and have self control.

I'm not at all disagreeing with you. This might come as a surprise to you, but you're right ()

It's all about self control. The people who I'm referring to are the people who lack as much self control, and my point is that there is a worryingly large number of them. They tend to be young people who go mad and drink to excesss. Not nice to see.

The people that cause problems when they are drunk, tend to be the exact same people that cause problems when they are sober. Or so it would seem, from my nights out drinking.

I could absolutely believe 1 in 12 glaswegians are drunk every day.

Also, I work in an office in glasgow a few floors up and along from a busy pub and hear lots of random drunk shouting/singing/talking, some aggressive and some very funny. And that's in the middle of the day

Drunk people congregating around a drinking venue, well I never!

I absolutely abhor the drinking culture that exists in this country. I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Great to have a few pints to get you merry or whatever, but people vomiting, suffering memory loss, getting paraletic etc regularly is quite disturbing.

It's a sign of stupid, it's like some have no sense of moderation or the pros and cons of drinking, sure having a few is fine but i find the negatives start to increase quickly after a certain point, who really enjoys losing awareness, potentially acting like an idiot and feeling rubbish the next day?

Currently have an offer from King's College to study medicine. I'm sure you know I wanted to be a doctor though? I think it was you who made some posters about routes into medicine, through one of your work projects, and kindly showed them to me?

EDIT: Here we go, found it.

Blimey, more than 2 years ago

Can I thank you again for those? :)

Blimey, I can't even remember yesterday and you had another username then.
I ended up winning an award for that book which was nice but I reckon a lot of it is now out of date.
I had an army of Health Professionals checking it for accuracy at the time.

Ah that explains it. Congrats on the award, that's really good :) What award was it, I think I remember you posting about it a while ago.

I can't imagine a lot of it is out of date, most of the requirements haven't changed and it's only been 2 years.

In the future, I'm dreading being on call on Friday and Saturday, with all the drunks stumbling into A&E :D
