***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

The launch goodies have arrived (recorded delivery):

£75 worth of 7digital music tracks
£75 worth of Google Books
£100 worth of Google Films

The last two on VISA gift cards.

Have you got these to work yet?

I entered one as a Visa card (the one from the left, as neither says one is books and one is films) and had to put a name (A GIFT FOR YOU) and then my own post code and phone number. I tried to buy a book, I'm not sure what happened...

**EDIT** Nevermind, it seems to have worked. Does it really only allow one to be used for books, and one for movies?

When I press to buy the book again (to see if there was a Visa Gift Card option that I missed) it says my purchase is being processed.

Have I done something wrong?

Anyone find their phone won't turn on with the usb inserted?

I find myself having to remove the battery and cable before it'll turn on.

I have recently wiped my battery stats, so would that be a cause?

Edit - Found out that the battery stats need to be reset after a full charge, guess that might be causing the issue.

Battery stats don't need resetting after a full charge...? I know if charging and you press once, you get the battery status. Usually I press once more and hold and it will turn on.

Also, worst case, pull the charger and then turn on. I've never had to pull the battery.

What i mean is, if the phone is on and i turn off, the battery indicator comes up, yet still remains after i pull the usb cable.

I have to whip the battery out to sort it.

Anyway i'll see how it goes, if it's still playing up after a few days it's going back.

Exactly the same problem that happened after I flashed the Android Revolution HD ROM, and also a stock F build. I flashed Modaco's ir3 release and it's now working fine. There are other people on XDA suffering the same problem, but no-one seems to know why.

What would people say are the biggest issues/problems with the phone? (apart from the volume bug which is (mostly) fixed).

Just trying to get an idea of what problems I might face when I buy it.

My screen is a little pink on solid whites in the browser, which annoys me.

Phew that's a relief, glad to know it's not just me.

Ok i'll have a nose at the modaco rom, it's ir4 now.

Do you have a screenshot of the pink/blue/yellow? Haven't seen it in the reviews so want to see if it's something I would notice.

It should be a bit blue/yellow if anything, not pink... that sounds like an exaggerated AMOLED screen fault (with the greys).

You may want it replacing.

It only seems to do it on the browser on the bbc site, could it be a software issue? It seems ok on other white backgrounds.

Is there any test I can do to see if it needs replacing?

Thanks.

It certainly could be a software related issue if it's only on the BBC site. What about the Google site?

There are quite a few shades of grey on the new BBC site, so if you have low brightness it may just be those showing up slightly pink. Does it still look pink if you crank up the brightness?

The bbc site shows it up more but it is still visible on the google site

It is the mobile site if that makes any difference, the issue does seem to get better it you turn the brightness up to around 80%.
