Assassin's Creed Revelations

**** ME! I've just done the stupidest thing ever. Accidentally deleted my save file about 7 hours in. I just hit "X" then "A" on my controller while trying to load. No "Are you sure?".

I'm absolutely furious. I will never complete this game now, what a flipping ****** I am.

Can you not find where the save was and check the 'previous versions' to see if there's a cached copy?

hmm this isnt blowing me away so far

"desmond journey" bits are terrible
also mega paranoid about getting wanted level because I really hate the tower defense rubbish
bomb bits are pretty dull and not fussed with the training recruits stuff after hours of doing this in brotherhood

I just want to run about and sword fight is that so much to ask :(
hopefully it will pick up

Just started this and apart from a sound issue I had (wasnt hearing speech in cutscenes, but fixed it as soundcard thought I had 5.1!). Seem's pretty straight forward, hopefully like above, it will pick up and get me interested till I complete it.

I got really annoyed with having to constantly play the tower defence, so i spent a lot of time leveling my recruits to max level so i don't have to bother anymore, it was annoying having to repeatedly look for a herald to bribe or a templar official to assassinate every time i decided to renovate the shops.

The pdf file in the game folder says that the manual is in-game, under extras; only I see no manual :( Profit graph suits strike again..

The manual can be found in the database.

Finding this really hard work to get into it. Finished it about 10hrs after installing, just did the main story. Playing for a second time. Really hate the tower sieges, have yet to win. Finding a few gliches, got stuck and could`nt move, had to restart memory. Also can`t seem to be able to use mercenaries or thieves, to distract enemies.

Bugger me. I'm more or less very early in and I've just had my second tower defence game after the first initial training one. I lost my den after some flame throwing ram appeared.

When I was first told about these tower defence games, I hated the thought of it and it's even worse than I thought. Why does my templar meter thing go up when I renovate shops though? I just noticed it a few moments ago and came here to find out why.

the templar thing is their awareness of your presence. as you recruit people and purchase shops they gain awareness of your actions. The best way to do it iv found is to just take everything while you are max awareness then get rid of it. rather than doing 3 shops. reduce awareness, then 3 more etc.

As for tower defence. make a few baricades and just spam riflemen on the rooftops. while shooting with your own gun as much as possible. Its a PITA but easy. later you can train assassins to defend the towers themselves... once they are level 10 they can begin "master" training and at level 15 they will control and defend the towers for you :)

Ah cheers for that. I kept spamming crossbow men on the rooftops, and riflemen behind barricades without any luck. Things happen so quickly during that portion of the game, that it's hard to take everything in :)

Started this last night and played about an hour and a half. I have to say that the beginning was slightly underwhelming, hopefully it will get better though.

I think it actually looks better than Brotherhood as well.

Ive trained a few assassins to max rank, although when I do missions to install a new Den, it doesnt appear on the map (have maxed out assassins for current dens). So, unless there are other cities.. Im missing something :(. Also figured out how to win easily at the Tower Defence game too.

Played a few hours of this now and it is starting to click:)

Not too keen on the tower defense rubbish but i have only done one so far, i hope they are not too frequent.

It is pretty much as i expected, the same as Brotherhood(great:)) but i am surprised that it actually looks a lot better, textures especially have been greatly improved. Also freerunning seems to be a lot smoother.

The only gripes i have so far are the same as with the other games really, and they are:

Proper implementation of stealth is needed(for example, why no crouch!!!!?)
Pickpocketing is still rubbish
I think it would be interesting if guards (at least most of the time) were on alert so that you always had to be weary of them.

The only other thing i am slightly disappointed in is taht the story seems to be getting needlessly overcomplicated, I hope they are not backing themselves in to a hole.

Now that I am getting in to it though i am looking forward to getting through it.

Finished it last night. The ending was superb and so well done tbh, however the journey there was rather boring.

Unlike Brotherhood or AC2 - the cast of supporting extra characters is more or less non existent. I thought Constantinople wasn't a good city either, it looked lovely but I just can't fathom why I didn't gel with it like Rome.

The whole tower defence thing is a useless feature, as well as bombs imo, which I never used.

Its a good game but, as kainz said it is ultra disappointing in terms of cutting out all the other people from the game except for a few disembodied voices briefly. Likewise, the puzzles were all but completely gone. 99% of the tomb stuff is just moving really fast on an very obviously predetermined path. Previous games with the video files and finding the symbols on buildings, the proper puzzle games were a very decent sub game. This game all but got rid of all the mystery, all the variation all the other main characters in the "real life" bit, and focused 99.9% of the main city.

It's a shame as I think that was, not unique but very few games bother with little distracting puzzles and things anymore, AC was for the last few years, one of the few to do that. I've spent more time picking locks in RPG's than finding secret weird puzzle things and solving riddles.

city is a bit bland - not much variety

annoyed how doing anything intresting makes your wanted level go up which then in turn makes you do the stupid tower defence rubbish

I like the Altair bits - lots of hack n slash!!

Really need to get back in to the main story line, spent too much time making sure I didnt have to go through the tower defence crap again.

What`s the secret?

I basically put bombers (or caltrops if you haven't got that far) at the front (roof each side) as the enemy enter in groups, so they will do max damage then. Fill rest with gunners, as they have long range and can pick off troops as well as the boss (flamers, ramming, cannon etc). Get as many barricades as you can to stop the boss in it's tracks while gunners pick it off. If you get the cannon boss, it normally leaves enough distance between the barricades, that as soon as it destroys one, its soo slow you can quickly stick up another barricade in its place :)

At that point, I normally sit back and pick off the men who come on the rooftops to kill your assassins. Oh and save your bomb special for the bosses :D
