windows 7 boot up time

Hi All What sort of tweaks can help speed up the boot up time of windows 7 ? i read somewhere about changeing the prefeacher or something any views thanks :confused:

the boot up time seems to hang

it seems to be when it goes from the logo into the log in part and the log in part to open up

you could take a look at Autoruns: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
this will tell you what it scheduled to start when the machine startup is running. Remove anything you do not need to automatically run (Adobe software / apple software etc)
Reboot and then see if it's quicker.

You can get a lot of differernt 'speed up' tools but some can cause more hassle than they're worth.

lol who needs standy? my PC and monitors never get switched or put to standby.

I have a SSD but still leave it on, just laziness i think as it takes less than 10 secs or so to boot to windows lol
