Have to keep stopping mine as people at work are moaning that i'm hogging the bandwidth
It should pause ok, just don't close Origin otherwise it forgets how much it has downloaded of the incomplete files!

how come programs like steam and origin still dont let you throttle the download speeds? i could be playing bfbc2 or something but noo i cant because downloading the bf3 update at max speed would probably get me kicked for having a high ping

Update done, just took 20 mins, (love my new 30mb connection 
) but battlelog is still down being updated so cant get in game.
About the IRNV, i only just got one not long ago and it would have been a shame to not use it if it was removed even tho its basically a hack because the devs dont think about balance over realism i guess i.e too many advance tools.
But a slight nerf is fine, makes it easier not to be killed i guess from long range with it now. If they got rid of it totally i couldnt do this anymore.

cant play singleplayer either, dont know who had the crappy battlelog idea i guess it forces everyone to use an ea site constantly though
killing ingame voip and tieing it to a website was the most retarded idea ever aswell... even CS had voice chat FFS! why do games insist on going backwords?

Agree on both points mate, totally idiotic ideas from them.
Edit - battlelog screen now showing login boxes etc as usual but still cant log in, must be nearly over with the update with the change from the downtime screen to login screen now tho.

Sign in this morning, before the patch was rolled out. Read about it being rolled out here, so right click BF3 and check for updates. Says that nothing has been found. So I think "oh gee wizz that's great, it done it for me when I didn't know!". Nope.
Log out of Origin, resign in. Lone behold it instantly finds the update for BF3.
Why oh why didn't it just do it about 2 hours ago?

Yeah the notice is at the top but before like 10 mins ago the login boxes and video wasnt there just a static screen of the soldier picture with few words saying its down but now its back to normal just logins still disabled for now. Which must mean its almost done surely?

You can play single player, put origin in to offline and start BF3.
Client side hit reg was a very bad move by Dice.
That's one guy killing the whole enemy team almost instantly, game breaking.
