Why do you let another human tell you what you can and cannot do with your free time?
You can just go and slay all the people at the camp and then she will assume the body of the last person you kill.
The quest was bugged for me (what a surprise!) and I didn't get the dialogue after sacrificing my follower, so I had to kill them all anyway.

Lydia doesn't need to make me a proxy 200 gold a day. She has the awesome power of getting in my way and dying.
we have now bought a Wolfdog which helps attack our enemiesproblem is it won't stop barking when I'm creeping about
I tried giving Lydia some boots of sneaking. She won't bloody wear them, instead she trollops around in some heavy boots. Ruining my super sneaky skills. Good job I have a serious hard on for Lydia or she'd have my axe to her face.
Yeh I wish you could force followers to wear what you want them to. I've got Mjoll the Lioness at the moment, she wears the dragonplate armour I gave her, uses the Ebony Battleaxe. But instead of using the Nightingale Bow she uses a normal longbow

Uh?! I just got into Riften's canals to speak to that guy behind a locked door but the dialogues were too damn quick and now he sits on the other side of the room and I can't get in. Is there an easy way to fix this?
Yeah I've done that. I killed them all thinking that would be instead of the slaying, but I still have to sacrifice someone. I'm just going to leave Lydia somewhere and go take a follower from another city.
Keyboard and mouse for me.

)Ok, Cicero is highly annoying. Not too keen on the new Brotherhood outfits. Preferred the all-black version, though its buffs are very nice. Definitely have some fun with that when I play a dagger wielding assassin. 30x backstabs will be lovely.

take away everything she's got and give her what you want her to wear? worked for me most of the time
The mrs said I'm ok to play it as long as I give her attention. Games installed
Just don't tell her you can get married in game...
I did this with a guy I did a quick quest for in the town closest to it with about 3 or 4 buildings in it. The reward from that questline is amazingly good, yet I won't say what it is incase of spoilers!

She's got the normal longbow in an invisible inventory. Can't remove it off of her. The rest of the gear is fine though.

Isn't there a way to remove it using console commands?
