The Acer GR235H uses passive 3D so if you're looking for a smooth experience in 2D or looking to gain something extra from a new GPU do bear in mind this model is restricted to 60Hz. The technology is similar to that used on the LG D2342P (which may be a better offer than the Acer) and the HP 2311GT as the panel used is the same LG number.
the acer seems to have the built-in IR receiver so saves buying one the extra money can go on a better Graphics card ?
Just in the planning stage at the moment trying to weigh all options at the moment
Any views or replys is a great help, to help me get the best deal & spec as there is so many diff makes & models out
Alternatively, if you are more interested in image quality and colour accuracy, throw 3D out the window and try an IPS panel monitor which is decent at gaming like the Dell U2311HM (review here).
Ah, is it this?
If so they you will need a monitor that is compatible with Nvidia 3D vision.
Also, for this use I wouldn't recommend a passive 3D monitor due to the halved resolution per eye - which means you see much less details compared to an active shutter one.
