Who's getting a 7*** Series Card or Nvidia equivalent

Don't forget the people on >1080p screens, you can use all the power you can get ;)

Very true! If you are on 1080p/1200p then BF3 is really the only mainstream title to push cards hard enough to warrant an upgrade for eye candy reasons. If you are on higher resolutions thats where these latest generation of cards will really come into their own.

Im itching to spend money on the 7 series - its over 3 years since i bought my 4870, but in fairness it is handling Skyrim at 1920 x 1080 on my 40" samsung LCD at ultra settings (no AA though)- only slowing a little outside in some of the cities.

BF3 is a struggle, low/medium, but im not enjoying the SP and am not a big fan of online MP (mainly because im useless), so would not purchase just to play this on higher settings.

Everything else I play is running smoothly.

But the money is burning a hole, and if I can get something akin to the power of a 6970 for £180 ish then I will gladly skip down to OC with cash in hand.

I bought a MSI GT 570 a month ago, and I already regret not getting a card with more Vram...with 2560*1440 resolution, so I might get myself a new present when the new cards come out.

Anyone want a barely used MSI GT 570? :p

I may well go for a 7 series card once they have been out for a bit, currently only gaming on a 22" screen @ 1680 x 1050 so the 5870 I have seems to suffice for most things at a relatively high detail level.

Will be interesting to see the performance increase of these though.

smaller resolutions seldom benefit much from new generations.
I expect these to be for 2560x1440 and eyefinity and add a much more fluid gaming there.
50% increase with eyefinity resolutions would be good.

Will get a pair of whichever is most suitable to replace my unlocked 6950s for smooth 2560x1600 gaming .. went to these from 5970+5870 so I am crazy enough to do it lol :D

Yeah if you're feeling generous santa :p

I skipped the 5xx generation (not enough of a bump over what I have) so I'll be due an upgrade once the prices settle down on the 6xx series

I'm in the same boat. Sure the current card are nice bump against my GTX 470, but I'm at 2560x1440.

I'd rather wait for those new big card to make an appearance.

Just out of interest, how much can we expect the 78xx's to be? And will these be likely getting released in Jan/Feb?
