Who's getting a 7*** Series Card or Nvidia equivalent

Really looking forward to getting one of these 7 series cards. This hd4870 is struggling a bit these days. Was nearly tempted by the 560ti 448 but managed to keep my wallet tucked away for a few more weeks to see ati's offering. :)

Stupid question here as i'm uninitiated: but why do you need Nvidia 3d vision for this? can't you just use a high-end video card with a 3d tv that uses active glasses?

Now that hes spent a lot of money buying nvidia's 3d vision kit which for the moment is the best 3d gaming kit he is correct to stay with nv if 3d is what he likes. I use my tv with my 6870 which works pretty well but i dont really rate 3d gaming so hardly ever use it.

I'd love a GTX6** but I doubt I'll be able to afford it. I need to find £300 for two tyres, £1000 for car insurance, £1200 for a 3 week trip to the USA for a wedding, £240 car tax. Not gonna happen some how...

I think I will be purchasing this generation as I currently have a 4870x2 which I have had since release. I think it is time I jump to a cooler, less power hungry card and something that is DX11 capable.

Obviously if these new 7*** Series are massively overprice then I will either look at the Nvidia equivalent or try and get a bargin 6950.

Kind of in the same boat with me using a 5970. . .

Would be nice if a single 7 series can drive 2560x1440 res with no issues.

this for me, just posted in the other thread, fed up of CF issues and wont be going nvidia, this decision has to be made before the cards are on sale as i dont want to loose loads on the cards i have.

considering selling one before xmas!

I will be holding off, likely to get the last graphics card upgrade for my q9550 hopefully this p35-ds3ls pci-e 16x won't limit the card.

560ti or 6950 :D 1920x1200 resolution good thing bf3 at this is more gpu then cpu, the good old q9550 that i bought at january 2009 still has life left and do feel the cpu will bottle neck a bit.

Only problem is it seems things are takeing a lot longer to get hear, i.e. postal services.

My attitude with the q9550 is that it is like 15-20% slower in games by average.

It is about 20 fps slower then the i5 2500k and the 2500k does bf3 at like 80 fps so my q9550 will do bf3 at 60 fps average which is not bad in other cpu applications the i5 is like 25% faster at max.

With my laid back attitude i am in no rush to upgrade to an i5 2500k another year i think.

Just ordered 4gb of ram bf3 soon 560ti.

If the 560 ti can do bf3 at ultra and knowing a rough predition my q9550 will handle bf3 at 60fps then it's no biggie.

I will concider the 7850 if I can afford it to replace my 5850, I'm finding it getting a little stretched now.

Funding is an issue for me, but I don't think it'd be worth the upgrade just to get a 6950 etc.

Knowing me I'll proabably end up waiting at least another year before taking the plunge lol. Last time I upgraded was after 6 years! :-P

I got the 570 gtx, I might get another for SLI I'm not sure, but I probably won't go for a new graphics card until maybe the gtx 7 or 8 series depending what I can play.

if a single card can perform better than my 5850 crossfire set up for under 250 quid i will consider it.

79xx is my only interest though as the technology looks superb.

Depends really on how they stackup to the nVidia alternative, not to mention the AMD drivers seem to keep going downhill.

What do you consider no issues?

My GTX 470 runs games well at 2560x1440, I just don't max out everything like AA.

Although I myself am Looking forward to these new cards and especially Nvidia's.

I'd like to replay The Witcher 2 with Ubersampling :)
