And if you had a standalone PC, you wouldn't be connecting to the multiplayer would you ? you'd be playing the single player offline, which you can do just fine with Origin ...

You're right of course, it has nothing to do with the onboard sound issue, its simply another issue i wished to raise in MY post.

By standalone PC what i meant was the ability to play a game without ANY interference from the net, yes without needing a net connection, but still having the choice of connecting to the net if i so wished to do so. As it seems to be now, you are forced to have a net connection, forced to install all kinds of third party crap, and forced to sign up to all kinds of third party crap just to get a game. Of course i'm not just talkiing about BF3, my thought were more general....Dirt3 springs to mind...you know, that game where u have to install and sign up to some microsoft garbage, just to save your progress in a game which you paid for?

PRO TIP: Youtube and BF3 dont mix. literally causes 15fps reduction when a youtube vid is open (and not even playing) crazy.

Anyone know what the score is with this...

So since the servers are down I thought i'd give sp a shot. The only way i can open the game is by putting origin in offline mode. I get it to load and get in the level, 'fear no evil' but about 30 seconds into it, it says my connection with EA onlince was lost and goes back to mian menu.

pretty sure i bought b2k, opened battlelog this morning to see any updates and it was telling me i havent bought it

Can see tonight being an annoyance with contacting ea

You should see it once you update BF3 following the downtime.

I too have been suffering badly with these crashes. I tried disabling on-board sound (as I use a Plantronics DSP-500 USB) but still crashes every 15 to 30mins. Last night I tried disabling Upnp on my router and so far so good, played a good 30 mins and no crash hopefully this is sorted now.

Now to buy the expansion as I missed the Pre-order paid £40 off origin and now regret not knowing about it

So another £12 to EA for the pack. Has to be done though!

Got mine on pre-order through origin. Downside was it cost me £40. Upside was it seems to be the version that has the least issues, with all the B2K stuff included from the very start and all unlocks etc.

Any how i never played BF2 the first BF game i played was BC2 so these new maps or should i say old maps are new to me so looking forward to them. Which one or two of the four maps would old school BF2 players advise to play on or are they all pretty good

omg, the ocuk server is full with a queue of 22 :< gutted.

Edit: 7th in queue, not too bad now

EDIT, now 1st in the que. I just can't believe it filled up with 12 people in the que in 30 seconds.
