what happens when we run out of resources/area?
I notice someone has built just behind where I had my base (was V small and built into a wall so don't mind as I'll just move) but wondered with people grabbing large areas of land what will be happening when they have booked the whole map?

If that happens we can expand the size of the map.

However, it will take a long time so I wouldn't worry about it for now.

I finally gave in to curiosity and bought Minecraft last night. I can see its going to take me a little while to get used to the game. So seemingly simple, but I imagine it has a lot of hidden depths to it.

The survival mode is kinda scary at first. I had no idea what I was doing at first and only had a crappy 4 by 4 by 3 shelter with no roof, doors, windows or light when night fell. Had to basically sit in the dark all night. And I could hear all those monsters trying to get in at me!

I ended up reloading and watching some tutorial vids about how to make tools/weapons before trying again.

You should register for the server and join in with everyone else. It's a lot more fun and a you can get help and advice from everyone.

I might do at some point. But I'll probably be playing the game very much part time for the forseeable future, so I'll probably stick to the single player game for now.

We have plenty of part time players. People have their own areas to build in so it's not really a requirement to be on there 24/7

I'd advise you to log on and have a look around at least. You might find inspiration for one of your own projects.
