The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I've just found a bug lol!

Came out from a cave and a hagraven just falls at my feat dead, the game spawns a dead creature.. who is this creature
Not as bad as the time I was riding my horse on a mountain and I got stuck on a ledge.....no where to go cos my horse would have plunged off the side, so I fast-travelled away.....and about three seconds after I arrived, I heard a loud thud and a whinny behind me.....and there was my horse, lying dead :D

Then suddenly I'm shot with two separate fire blasts from behind.
Realise ANOTHER dragon had come in to the frey as well as a high level undead mage  I get wtfpwned by three fire casters.

On a side note, I'm lvl 37 and have yet to see a higher level dragon than Frost. What's up with that?

Thing is that undead caster, probably a Dragon Priest, is 10x more deadly than the Dragons themselves ><

So far the highest Dragon I've encountered was Blood and I've only seen 1 of those. Tempted to get the mod that increases there health, though it is funny to watch them take on Giants and get thrashed.

Annoyed myself last night, was tidying out the misc quests getting all of the 'fetch me a load of...' types. I had 20 Jazby Grapes (they took a lot of finding), 20 Nirnroot, 20 Deathbell, 20 Nightshade and a load of fire salts. Stopped off at the Nirnroot farm to drop of the Jazzyberries and somehow managed to hand over all of my Nirnroot as well. Didn't realise what I had done until I was in Roften giving out the rest when I realised I had no Nirnroot. STill of them all it is the easiest to find. The Jazzy grapes took forever until I remembered I was Archmage and there were loads growing in my bedroom!

Reached level 27 now with my mage and suddenly getting my arse handed to me. Bandits used to be one-hit kill, now take 3-4 with a Fireball (dual wield) and the Drauger are taking considerably more than that. Worst of all I'm being taken down by other mages so so fast, like 2 hits from a Necromages Ice projectiles last night totally killed me ... 2 hits!!.

I need to improve my magic resistance to stand a better chance against another mage, anyone got tips on the best way to do that.

I think you can. Did you try the Winterhold college basement? There was some sort of device there you can summon whatever you want.

Yeah I'll go back there and try that. I meant the summon flame atronach spell.

with regards to the dragon comments above. I am level 40 now with about 68 hours, and I too have only seen dragons, blood dragons and frost dragons. I think once you do the main quest (I've barely started it) the dragons toughen up. I have a 126dmg ebony legendary bow with absorb 13 health per shot. I'm also wearing a couple of apparel items that each increase bow damage by about 25% so I can take out average dragons in about 6 shots now :D Shame I can't take their souls :D

Only way to do that is to start churning out potions with Resist Magic/Fire/Shock/Frost and take whichever you need since most mages only ever seem to use 1 spell/element. Alternatively, get better at using your Wards to block spells, though they do suck hard without half cost and decent restoration.

That or you accidently upped the difficulty to Master :p Going by the difficulty settings listed on the UESP, Expert is 0.75x damage dealt 1.5x received, Master is 0.5x dealt 2x received.

Well its because armour has zero effect on magic damage. Its bad enough when you get chased down by bandits using the Frostbite spell early game but when they start using Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning and instant hitting it gets silly.

I've fought a couple of elder dragons, I think they must spawn in certain areas, they were in the swamp, boiling water areas. I even managed to defeat one with the broken resists, I used bow and about 30 potions, and hid behind some scenery.

Resists are definitely fixed for me now though.

I haven't, but looknig forward to the challenge. my smithing is level 95 I think, with enchanting at about 80 so will be making dragon armour soon! Cannot wait!

Which is better: dragon or daedric?

It took me a while to realize that. At the beginning i was "What the ****, why did it not fill a soul gem? I killed the ******* in no time!"

I honestly think soul trap enchanted bows are my favourite part of the game. Love the effect!

I've come up against a few Ancient Dragons. It might be coincidence, but if memory serves
they have all been since I advanced the main quest beyond speaking to Paarthurnax, getting the Elder Scroll and defeating Alduin for the first time.

They don't seem that much tougher than normal dragons, tbh, but then I am a fully geared up uber enchanted weapon type.

Is it better to take sides (imperial or stormcloak) then do the main quest-line or to do the MQ then take sides?

Im wondering if at all how doing one effects the other.

Going by the UESP the basic dragon has 905 hp all the way up to ancient dragon with 3071 hp. Not sure if the level means you need to be that level in order to meet them (10-50 for the 5 dragon types) or thats just the level they are though.

As I understand it, Daedric Armour is slightly heavier and slightly stronger than Dragonbone. Though I think both are already quite capable of reaching the maximum armour cap so I dunno if it matters really. Its slightly annoying though since Daedric Weapons are clearly the strongest so going the Light Armour path means you can only craft Glass at best.
