try empty servers or servers with very few people?

Can the 'Assignments' be done on normal maps or only B2K maps?
 
Not a bug it's part of it. Friendly AT mines are now blue, enemy are re if spotted. You will notice them disappear of the minimap after a while even if they are still on the ground, much like a human enemy. It makes sense really, if in a war situation you can provide tracking info of a moving person, i'm pretty sure you can provide info about stationary mines.
 
Pretty sure the mine spots showing up on the map are deliberate.

Unlocked the Famas this morning after completing the Assault assignments. Quite a cool little addition to the game I think. Still not played Wake but the three I have played are great. There seem to be a lot more tanks about!
 
Why do AT mines show on the map now? =/

The PS3 had a patch recently that enabled the spotting of mines.

They show up on the map for approx 30 seconds after spotting. They will only show up when somebody on your team spots them for you.

The PC has been patched since, and they reduced this back to 15 seconds (iirc) but this patch hasn't made its way to consoles yet. They appear to be using the PC as a test bed and patching more frequently to get feedback on what works / doesn't.
 
This is floating around on the Battlelog forums.

There has been absolutely NO information from DICE at all, no patch notes or anything which tbh absolutely sucks. Its almost like they are trying to hide that they are capable of patching.

But from what i've seen of the in game updates (squad colour changes, removal of auto join for squads, mine spotting, IRNV nerf) its the same patch the PS3 got, which would make sense.

General fixes

• Significant improvements to the Squad Join interface, full details in this earlier blog post
• Removed FIND ME A SQUAD option
• Allow players to join empty Squads alone, thus having 1/4 Squad members
• Change order of options to LEAVE SQUAD, INV A FRIEND, SWITCH TEAM
• Disable Privacy flag when 1 man Squad

Balance changes

• Increased the damage of helicopter miniguns, AA guns, and jet cannons against infantry
• Increased the damage of helicopter miniguns against jeeps
• Reduced the physics impact of AA guns and jet cannons so players under attack from these weapons no longer should lose control
• Increased the damage of the 44 Magnum slightly
• Increased the range and minimum damage of the .357 Round from the MP412 Rex
• Increased the range of all .45cal and 9mm weapons
• Slightly increased the range of the P90 and MP7 and PDW-R
• Slightly increased the range of the 5.56mm PDW-R and decreased the minimum damage at long range
• Slightly increased the minimum range of the Mk11, SVD, and M39 EMR 7.62mm rifles
• Decreased the maximum damage and maximum range of the G3 and SCAR-H 7.62mm weapons
• Reduced the damage from FIM-92 and SA-18 IGLA missiles against aircraft
• Increased the damage and range of the 40mm BUCK rounds
• Reduced the damage .50cal weapons do against helicopters
• Updated T90 canister shell tweaks to match Abrams canister shells
 
What is the 'Underslung Grenade Launcher'?

I really want the l85a2 but haven't a clue what that is, is it the same as the M320?
 
what does this mean ?

Increased the Time to Live on sniper caliber rounds to allow extreme distance shots.

Means the sniper rifles that fire higher caliber bullets should now be able to shoot further.

The underslung grenade launcher is the M320 for assault class. Its an unlock with 11,000 assault score (2nd after the paddles)

The L85A2 is the british assault rifle, also called the SA80

Isn't that the underslung rail that you get when assault? Effectively a grenade launcher?

the underslung rail is just a rail though :confused: how do i put grenades on it?

Correct

the M320 aka grenade launcher is completely separate to the rail. The rail is something you attach your foregrip to etc.. but is actually without purpose in battlefield 3. It takes up one of your slots, but you can still attach a foregrip and flash light etc.. without out, which you wouldn't in real life.

To get the m320 you need to play assault class, and then swap your perk 1 from the health pack to the M320.
