Top 5 guitarists

I never saw this thread, can't believe I haven't contributed.

It's tough to separate guitarist from song writers, but still, here we go:

1. Paul Gilbert
2. David Gilmour
3. James Hetfield

It's tough for me to add more. Joe Satriani is an incredible guitarist, but I don't listen to it much because it sounds a bit cheesy to me. I actually left early when I went to see him (obviously I went to see his support act, the mighty PG) :o :p

Likewise, Matt Bellamy, George Harrison etc are amazing musicians but they aren't like the top 3 that have made my list.

1. Stevie Ray Vaughan
2. Gary Moore
3. Jeff Healey
4. Slash
5. Aynsley Lister - UK blues player

If I was to name another one it would be Ceasar Huesca. Look him up on YouTube.

Just out of interest, ive seen James Hetfield pop up a few times. There's no doubting his frontman talents (being able to play and sing at the sametime) but top 5 guitar player of all time? Really?

Absolutely, he's a beast at riff writing and playing. Look at the low hung guitar, awesome :D

Stevie Ray and Slash are great players too.

Too many good guitarists, I'm listenning to Heartwork and Symbolic again, so:-

Bill Steer,
Michael Amott,
Jerry Cantrell,
Dimebag,
Chuck Schuldiner,

Some of those riffs and solos are immense
