The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Do sneak attacks increase sneak xp, or just give u 2x damage?

I think sneak levels based off the damage you inflict with sneak attacks also but don't quote me on that. Either way you get a good chunk of skill xp from attacks. Or at least so my bow sneak attacks tell me, melee is probably a different story.

Never lower the difficulty, fight like a man and use hide and run tactics.

Not possible. He refuses to leave the chamber, as does the draugr he spawns with, until he's taken about 10% damage (which takes 3 or 4 Fire Breath shouts) then he chases me down and its not exactly a large area you get to backtrack.

For an easy win, kill all the additional Draugr. Fus Ro Dah the spectral guy, beat the crap out of him when he's down, run away, repeat.

I didn't check but he's probably weak to fire since he casts ice spells and his chamber is littered with 'resist fire' potions.

Easier said than done. The Draugr Scourge he's in the room with has that much health that I can barely do 20% damage before the boss is beating my head in again. And weakness to fire means jack when you're a lvl19 Sword + Shield warrior. I'll give it a few more attempts, seeing if I can just spam the crap out of shield bash with adren rush to keep him staggered, otherwise I'll lower it to Adept and see how it goes.

Its generally fine other than the odd mini boss. Creatures are seriously overpowered atm as most seem to be able to 2-4 shot me (I'm talking sabre cats and bears, not Giants and Mammoths) so hopefully that'll change when I get stronger armour (because Exquisite Orcish is apparently very weak..). That Silver Hand boss for the first Circle mission was a joke. He could instagib me with finishing moves when I had 2/3 hp left!

Funny, I killed that dude last night and found the same. I play as an archer mainly (have so much fun with it) so luckily I can generally keep out of melee range :)

Well as an archer sure. You either sneak attack them to death and never even get spotted or he was a weakened version while you have a strong weapon. I'm using a Skyforge Steel sword (its stronger than an Orcish one), full Orcish armour and a Dwarven shield all exquisite. As a mage it'd probably be easy too. Get a storm atronach ready and spam him to death with dual cast apprentice level spells to staggerlock him.

But so far I'm finding Heavy Armour to be very unimpressive.

Finally killed him. Dropped it to Adept so he couldn't kill me in a single dual wield power attack. He couldn't be staggered by a shield power bash so that was a total waste of time and effort and meant that my attempts to do it were getting me killed. Only way I could stagger him was if he hit my shield from a well timed block and attempting to hit him ran the risk of being halfway through an attack when he retaliated. Decided to use a sleeping tree sap potion (+100 max health) along with fortify one handed and heavy armour potions and chug healing pots when I could. Turns out he was using 2 fairly powerful enchanted weapons (~regular orcish standards).

Then upped it to Expert and took on the Scourge... yet again he couldn't be staggered by power bashes either which was a complete joke. So all I could do when he stood there Frostbiting me was stand there hitting him in the hope I'd have chance to block when he did a regular attack since he did 1/4 health damage per hit.

I'm level 12, have leveled as mage so far and am starting to think it sucks. I just switched to a one hand weapon and things die much much quicker. Anyway to reset perks? Or am i stuck with what i have spent?

No, there isn't. And Mage can be very hit n miss. Early on you have so little mana and spells cost so much its hopeless and the Oakflesh spell is about as useful as a chocolate kettle. Plus Destruction levels REALLY slowly which means the spells don't go down in price very fast and it takes ages to get hold of the adept half spell cost perk. Think you'd have to fork out for some Destruction training to get anywhere fast.

Once you get Adept Destruction and a healthy amount of magicka and the Impact perk you can dual cast spam Lightning Bolts for staggering instant hit spells or chain spam Fireballs for that super-powerful feeling :p

Edit: Lol, Garrus *** :p

I thought the named dragons were pretty weak, the Elder and Ancient dragons much tougher, and their fire or frost attack much stronger.

Would be cool if they all had names. Maybe someone will mod it :)

Fought a Pyromancer a few hours ago for the "A night to Remember" quest. Took a few attempts to get him down as he could 1-shot me with some crazy explosive fireball. He must have been some sort of boss as that was the hardest fight i've had so far. Took A LOT of resist potions to keep me alive.

I am loving this game so so much.

Yay, I just defeated Daniel the Dragon ;)

Oh come now, I'm sure you meant Puff :p

Dragons really need special bonus' vs Giants and Mammoths. It really is pathetic watching them terrorise a town (Morthal) for ages flying around and flaming people and occasionally landing on a house to flame people... then having it fly over the mountains, attack a Giant and lose miserably.

It just dawned on me earlier how bad the Alchemy potions list is. What is the point in it keeping a record of all the potions you can make with the ingredients you have and not keeping a record of all the potions you have discovered with all the potential ingredients at all? After 10+ hours its simply not feasible to keep hold of your alchemy ingredients as they weigh 50+ so you need to put them in storage, and since it doesn't keep track of any ingredient effects on the alchemy menu you can't just quickly check which ones you need for a given potion, you have to search through yourself every bloody time.

Finally finished the main questline tonight, after 210 hours :D.

Now just got the Assassins brotherhood and stormcloaks or empire quests to do. Oh and finish the college of winterhold questline.

This bint best learn to tidy up soon or we might be taking a trip to Boethiah

The chest is pointless, they need to add different sections than just lumping it in one big list! Throwing it all on the floor is much easier :p
