Yeah I might go back to that, I just preferred the webpage version. His production chains seem off as well. His tools production for example would have 1 ore mine and 1 coal mine powering 2 smelters = 4 tools workshops. Never has that worked in my games.

Indeed, I think its 1 coal to 2 ore to 2 smelters and 4 tools.

Definitely worth picking up if you like city building games that require a bit of thought and patience. The game seems very slick, very few bugs. Campaign missions can be very long affairs - might be dull for some. The continuous game mode is where the real fun is to be had in my opinion.

If you don't mind downloading the game its £16 on ebay... It is a superb game although not very noob friendly.

Is the ebay seller using Steam codes? The Shopto price is for download apparently (Google Shopping listed it as a download item).

No it downloads through UBI soft's own downloader. There are no steam codes for anno 2070 I tried for ages to find one and found it has never been released as a code just available to buy through steam.

I'll take a look but I don't really like ebay for codes.
Can't find the item for £16.

Can get the collectors edition (doesn't include the solar toy) from Ubisoft shop for £20 now. A bit surprised by the price, unless it's a festive special price.

I just got my retail copy of this yet it seems I cannot play it because their server is down. Whether I go in through online or offline it wants to log in to their server which doesnt work.

I'm sure it's been said before, but why don't I just pr8 the damn thing and play it now????

Because the pirated method missed a lot of the features unfortunately :( The ark for example is useless without being online, and with their servers down is useless retail as well.

Mine is working ok as playing it now, could be the activation server...?

I'm guessing that is the issue because even when I tell it to use offline mode it still tries to login. Presumably the game wants to login once online regardless. Their Twitter feed does say today that the server is down; but I would still say that is totally unacceptable for a retail product. Like selling me a new car but not letting me start the engine...

Maybe their statement about 95% of gamers being thieves is self-fulfilling..
