Question for the Mods and closing threads

A couple of months ago there was a similar thread. Basically often they are closed with stuff at the bottom, but sometimes it just needs moving. Saying that the only thread I want back is instant and moment...

The funniest thing About all this is that the OP was an underboss for a while...

:D
About 2 months 8 years ago.

It was embarassing at the time because I did absolutely nothing for 2 months and then got an email saying we have taken your status from you
I'd been waiting for instructions and didn't even know they had a special forum I could go in.
They said they sent an email notification telling me all about it but I swear on my wife & kids lives and my guitar collection that I received nothing because all my emails get checked.
Hey ho and all that - worst Underboss EVER.

Last I was informed about the thread was that it was being cleared up.

No news of it's return yet sadly

I can see why you were made an admin, you're sense of humour is perfectly fitting for the job.

In all seriousness I don't see why people shouldn't be able to give an opinion on moderators etc. For the most part they're good on this site but there are some who are just plain ****.

I am sense of humour?

I'm not an admin any more :)

The bottom line is that there's a lot of work goes on in the background that people don't see. You might think someone is no good, but to be honest if you can't see the workload you can't make that judgement.

Because people form opinions not knowing how moderation is done and often get annoyed about things they shouldn't. Being in a position of authority always makes you unpopular with some people and any thread would just be a rantfest.

Indeed. I must admit, the Dons (at least used to) discuss moderating decisions better than most of the other forums I frequent. There are some very long threads in the DR. That said, moderation isn't the most consistent it could be, but that's not the Don's fault.

That's true but I can quite easily see when moderators blatently break rules or attempt to provoke reactions from people and unsuprisingly those infringements are ignored.

I'm not going to comment on this, but yes this does sometimes happen but that's not going to change.

I can see what you're saying, that being said it wouldn't be hard to see who was just "trolling" or being an idiot when posting an opinion.

Trust me, they'd be more trolling than there would be constructive posts and wading through all the crap would be rather time consuming.
