Some great looking pooches in here :) Lost ours in July this year, Bullmastiff below, takes a bit of getting over but on the lookout for another now. :D

I would post a pick of my new (well old) dog (9 year old springer), but he has just woofed down a raw hide bone chew, and sounds like he is about to vomit it back up again. Nasty noise and the fat little git deserves it!

But I love him.

every time i come in here makes me want a dog even more

Same here.

But what puts me off is the amount of time you have to spend looking after the dog.

One guy in this thread said that he spends 3hrs/day+ walking his dog. I just don't have that sort of time.

Yup and I would never leave a dog alone for 8 hours, my mum could look after it but has a bad back so wouldnt be able to control a lab size dog.

Sorry for it being slightly off topic, but can anyone here reccomend a good dog insurance company? (asking here so I get personal views and experiences).

Vet costs are astronimical so it would be good to have a decent insurance company to help with bills should there be any (touch wood there wouldn't be).

thank you.

Depends what you want out of it; there are LOTS of different levels and permutations at varying prices. There is no single or correct answer.

We are with pet plan. Got their supreme plan and it covers up to £12,000 a year. It's coming in very handy at the moment thanks to a partially to a cruciate ligament in my dogs leg that didn't heal properly. Not that expensive per month off the top of my head.
