Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

No, first off you can only connect them to the WD as the WC looks scalers and will just give you the finger.
Consoles don't even run games at 1080p 99% of the time but upscale it to 1080p.. and even that is still waaay lower than the resolution of the screen. So are there any benefits compared to a 27" full hd monitor or TV? No. Does the scaler in the WD present you with an acceptable image? Yes, non-native resolution outputs look quite good. Way better than it does on my Samsung (206bw/2443bw).

I know that it's only available on the WD. Just wondering if it was worth splashing out the extra cash, so that I could play console games on the monitor also. Do you think you could record a video of one of your consoles using the WD? So that I can see? :P

Guys,

I ordered one of these on Saturday and it arrived Monday but only just getting to play with it now due to work. I'm having quite a few problems but I'm not sure if its me or the monitor.

When I have connected it to my main PC, I get an odd effect as it displays four tiled images of the same desktop (each image is clear but only has 1/4 of the screen). I've tried connecting it as a single monitor or with my 2nd monitor (Iiyama E2607WS) and get the same effect. I also get the same effect on the post & bios screens which makes me think it might be the monitor rather than Windows. The PC is Win 7 x64 ultimate with a GTX460.

I've also tried connecting my laptop (Lenovo T410 in a docking station) but no image is displayed on the Hazro. If I go dual screen with the laptop open, it actually forced the laptop into a really low resolution (256xsomething even lower) and now hangs Windows.

I've used the supplied cable and my own (all dual DVI).

Am I missing something or is it RMA time?

Xav

Set up my one the other day and I originaloly used the cable from my dell 24", had the exact issue you have there. Swapped the cable to the hazro one as I noticed that the dell cable was only single link. Fixed it straight away.

Although then I thought my 30" was broken as it stopped displaying anything but large lines of colours, and spent ages swapping cables around and ports then unplugged it, plugged it back in and it started working fine again which was random.

But yea, that issue is the fact that its only getting a single link connection (even though windows lets you set the res to the native).

Just bought one of the glass HZ27WC monitors, and have subsequently been told that the 3mm long line undert the glass panel (a fibre or scratch, impossible to say which) which is visible from over five feet away allegedly doesnt actually 'count' as a flaw (on Hazro's say-so, they say) and my request for an RMA has been refused. It covers a pixel cluster about 13x3 pixels in size.

I was also told on the phone that OC regularly get reports of particles/scratches this large, and refuse them because Hazro wont accept its a fault.

Does anyone have any experience of getting an RMA for a defect of this size after an initial refusal?

A thought; would I better off (in terms of less hassle) shipping back the glass panel monitor under the DSR, and getting a non-glass model while they're discounted as much as the glass one was last week when I bought it.

Anyone know how much shipping one of these back will cost? Is it acceptable doing so in the original box without putting anohter box around that?

You can return it under DSR and they can't refuse it.

Hey,

You're not alone, i have a mark on the outer surface of the glass that looks like a fly hovering infront of the screen. I have been refused RMA with the exact same patter (Hazro will not accept it as a fault). When Hazro's warranty says it covers all material and workmanship defects how can they say it's not covered? I really feel like im being conned.

Yeah, well they've just offered me an RMA under the DSR (which was my right anyway), so it'll get sent back to them, but they're still saying that its not a fault, which quite frankly I find ridiculous.

Im in two minds whether to pick up the non-glass model now while its on sale, or give up on the idea completely.

okay, so an hour later and it would have been nice if 'i have emailed you an RMA number' meant that I actually received an RMA number. its not been spam-filtered, because ive checked.

Didn't you order it from ocuk? They would take it back without hassle surely.

Yep, i was buying for a present and i now don't have the present so i don't know what to do either.

After return shipping costs are factored in, the non-glass is going to work out @ £400ish and there are still no guarantees that it will be any better. If the picture isn't acceptable i don't expect any better service than i've had this time around and really feel that i would be a fool to part with my cash knowing what i do now. In fact, i'm not sure i could bring myself to buy a bag of screws from here now.

I think i'll bide my time and purchase an equivalent from another UK retailer. If only Hazro had something resembling QA and OCUK took some responsibility for the goods they're supplying i wouldn't be left with such a bitter taste in my mouth.

Received mine yesterday, love it! Do have a few dots (dust perhaps) but doesn't bother me too much. Glass looks okay from what I've seen but getting terrible bleeding. It's very prominant and affecting games.

Would you say this is bad? (think the camera makes it look a little worse in pic 2, but its very distracting).

Got an RMA so will send it back and hope to get a replacement.

I just have the Hazro connected blue light flashing I then start the pc I cant see BIOS then blue light goes steady screen is on then as its a bit brighter I can hear win 7 start sound but nothing on Hazro I am using the Dual-link that came with monitor. Should I DSR or RMA it what is my best option?

If its not displaying BIOS, then there is an issue - mine at least ended up displaying BIOS after I got rid of the old monitor. Options:

(a) Not sure if its worth it but can you try and get into the BIOS on startup, restart without making changes, and see if that makes a difference?

(b) You have tried both DVI ports I assume?

(c) Have you tried killing your PSU power (i.e. off switch) completely and on again?

(d) [More extreme but] reseat your graphics card so it forces your system to do a full POST routine i.e. as if you had installed it anew.

(e) I don't think you should have reinstalled your Nvidia drivers with the old monitor - try to uninstall and disconnect the old monitor, then connect the Hazro.

Apart from these, not sure if there is anything else I can suggest :(

There is definitely something odd about the "handshake" going on between the monitor and the card with the WC.....good luck! Hopefully with a little bit of trial and error you will get there...

Got a new GFX card a HIS 6950 but still no joy  with the Hazro so is going back after Christmas

If you want to return it under DSR yes, If you want to send it as faulty or defective so OCUK pay the postage etc then no

here here, OCUK must be getting fed up with the return rate on these, but I personally don't expect them to be checking monitors before they go out, Its all down to Hazro and the build quality

Working as a manager in a large company I can say that there are times when our costumers do not get a service they deserve. Even if is is due to some providers that we may use, and not directly due to an error made by my company I always make sure that we take the full responsibility and compensate the client. After all it is my company that chose the specific provider and allowed them to sell their service to us. Wouldn't it be nice if OC UK did the same?

As a major retailer with major buying power, I don't see what ocuk's problem is. Long term customers are dissatisfied, replace them or we stop stocking. It's like hazro get to tell people what is acceptable. It just beggars belief!

Been looking at these monitors as they make 1440p really affordable, yet the amount of negative posts about them is REALLY putting me off :(

Well, with the first one I received the power brick was cracked, and obviously damaged internally cause it would shut off after a min or so.

Second one was perfect. Absolutely no problems at all. Good backlight uniformity, not a single stuck/dead pixel or any other issue.
