Am I being unreasonable? (drink driving related)

I meant as in 'more like' irresponsible rather than just plain a lie.

More irresponsible than lying? No I still don't see it.

Anyway was it 3 or 4 drinks and what time was each drink drunk and what time did she drive.

If you knew she was drinking, which you did. Then it's upto you to question her, if you feel strongly about it.
When has anyone said I've had 3 drinks, do you still want a lift, or I'm tiered today are you sure you want a lift of me.

I don't know exactly how far they are apart. I would be fairly certain the vodka & coke was <30 mins before I got there. The glass of wine was with me, then she finished off the bottle whilst I was getting my shoes on.

I knew she had had one drink before we left, not 3 - Why would I question a single glass of wine? I thought I could trust a close friend to not be foolish like this but clearly not. Sometimes when I am just plain exhausted I become a bit dopey and don't notice things.

You knew she had everything other than the vodka.

And when was 30mins before you arrived and when did she drive.
I'm taking it ~3glases per bottle.

She did not lie as in tell me something that is not true, she neglected to tell me, which is more irresponsible imo.

The other week she said to me 'my car was swerving when I was doing 100mph on the motorway' - I checked the tyre and it was 5psi and the spare was almost bald .

so what happened, eh.

oh I can tell by your tone

anyway yes she was daft, but she won't respect you in the morning.

You knew she had everything other than the vodka.

When we were over half the way home she told me all, after seeing the line of Police cars.

I knew she had had one drink at the time of getting in the car to go out in the first place.

She had the remainder of the bottle whilst I was getting my suit out of my car (wedding the next morning - not mine I might add!).
I was at hers 10 mins before she drove.

Why does your story keep changing?
3 or 4 drinks. You knew two drinks, then only one.

Maybe carefully go through the OP and edit. Becuase at the moment it keeps changing nearly every post.

No. Read carefully now...

One drink at hers that I saw. On the way back she told me she had had a vodka and coke before we left hers (before I arrived) and had also finished off the bottle of wine (whilst I got suit out of the car).

We both had one more drink before the cinema, at a bar next to it. That means she had had 4 drinks and I thought she had had 2, before a 2-3 hour film followed by driving home.

This depends entirely on the time span and the size of the glasses.

I went out with friends the other night and had 4 beers before proceeding to drive home.

The babykiller brigade would usually be all over me for such an act.

But, I was drinking bottles and I had the first at 7, last at 11 and drove at 1. Using the 1 unit an hour thing, by the time I drove, I should have been back at 0.

You probably would be OK, but I have too much to lose if I got banned from driving.

Sounds like she's a silly bitch who thinks she knows better, lets hope she gets her licence taken off her BEFORE she kills some poor unfortunate sod.

I cannot speak on your specific instance but I understand where you are coming from.

My EX thought it was highly unreasonable I was _ABSOLUTELY LIVID/****ED_ that she drank drove home and that "Doing slow speeds on the inside lane" was perfectly acceptable and risk free. As well as admitting she had done it on many occasion and was fine.

Suffice to say I was not in agreement at all with that notion.

I am pretty hardline on drink driving so in your situation I would have been drink free and done the driving, if she wanted to drink - at all.

I once got in a car with someone after they had 8 vodka red bulls, am I an idiot? yes. It was a stupid stupid thing to do. Not since have I got in the car if anyone has had over a pint. Even then Im not comfortable with it. If im driving I dotn drink atall.

Id be ****ed off, dont think its OTT atall

TBH I wouldn't worry about splitting hairs over how many units and over what time, she had multiple drinks then drove. Whether you scrape under the breath test or not it still isn't the cleverest of ideas. She clearly knows this hence her keeping that nugget of info to herself until later on.

Answer is simple though, don't get in a car with her again. Job done.

Oh and...

Snap.

I'm fairly nonplussed by the drink driving - it's her license to lose and I don't subscribe to the moral outrage it attracts these days.

But I'd have to question why she needs to neck a bottle of wine before going out with you?
