Question for the Mods and closing threads

Why, I'm not quite sure I know what you mean!

Have a nice day and merry christmas ;)

I honestly thought someone of your age and intelligence was better then this or at least "above" it :)

I meant what I said, I have no beef with you, it seems you can't get past it though.

Making a new thread with more info in.

So lets teach our new posters a lesson by closing a thread and not giving them the opportunity to put a link in.
He obviously made a mistake and can't alter it.
The lads probably a bit miffed at having his thread closed BUT HE'S BEEN TAUGHT A LESSON

How the hell can a new poster provide a link when you close his thread??? - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18354889

The message is a) for future reference to give a hint as to why the thread was closed and b) there's nothing to prevent them posting another thread where there's actually content.

You'll note that I didn't ask them to post a link in the thread as that wouldn't be possible, I asked them to post a link when starting threads of that nature i.e. threads which purport to be about a newsworthy event. You may also like to note that almost all the replies were bemused due to lack of information so the thread was only going to become (more) spammy if action had not been taken.

From where I was sitting "the big man" thread was closed because the argument was going in circles for far too long, and Al Vallario threw a wobbler and deleted most of his latter replies (making it difficult to follow).

It could have been re-opened, but I can see why they'd rather nuke it and have subsequently allowed someone to start a new thread in light of the new story etc.

It would have been possible if you left it open.

This fact had not escaped my attention. However as I pointed out the replies were tending towards spam in the thread, there was no guarantee that a link would have been added and the option to start a new thread on the same topic but with more information was and continues to be open to the poster.

The one that still hasn't been explained is the NHS one where posters were telling some great stories of their personal experiences and then it's gone!!!
That was the reason for this thread but I honestly didn't mean it to turn to Mod knocking by the kids.

It was closed because it was a medical thread.

Just kidding, I've no idea why, got a link to the thread?

Right, what's going on with swearing and partially disguised swearing then?

Mods are doing it now, so which is it? Can someone answer this?

"Do as I say and not as I do" isn't great when it comes to rules.
