Another I've Been Scammed On Ebay Thread

What a waste of time eBay is. Here is an extract from the reply i got from them ...

" .... However, our powers to remove a feedback directly is very limited because if we are to prevent or remove the feedback left from other members then the feedback forum will no longer be a place for free and open communication. Please be advised that it is each member's right to post feedback on a transaction and we can not censor feedback."

Why do they always favour the buyer? Now my feedback score is at 95% , all because out of over 270 transactions i now have one negative one and all for no reason.

FREE AND OPEN COMMUNICATION?!!! LOL .

Sorry i had to shout, but what about OUR free and open communication as sellers to leave negative, or even neutral feedback? Scammers paradise, ebay and paypal lol.

Your neg will clear in 12 months anyhow mate.

If he's taken the CPU to a specialist (lol), then it's safe to assume he has little understanding of fitting the CPU in the first place.

My bet: he's put the CPU in the wrong way / dropped it, and bent the pins himself.

If that's the case the seller should not be liable. OCUK wouldn't accept it back, why should ebay sellers.

So i send a request through eBay to try and get my unjust negative feedback removed. This is what they send you back ...

"The buyer will have until 1-January-2012 to respond to this request. If the buyer decides not to respond or declines your request, please respect that decision."

It's appalling , totally biased against the seller and i'm in two minds whether to close my account and buy and sell elsewhere. There was no mention that the buyer tried to get me to refund him £35.

By the way the buyer refused to change my feedback ....

"Reason for declining:

The original Feedback I left for the seller was accurate
"

The bad guy won

What you should do is not give a rat's ass about that feedback dude, just leave a reply to it stating that he didn't attempt to resolve any issue and left neg feedback right away and others should avoid him.

That feedback will stay for 12months anyway. At least in that time people will see that you did the right thing.

This is why I use Loot/Gumtree and cash on collection only for selling stuff. The come round, see the goods working, test themselves if applicable then go. You still get scammers trying to contact you with offers of cheques and stuff but they're just ignored.

Does the buyer sell anything on the bay? If so buy it on someone elses account and leave the worst feed back ever. Also:

Please be advised that it is each member's right to post feedback on a transaction and we can not CENSOR feedback."

ebay can not sensor so it says above you can write he was a total ass monkey

To summarise, you came here looking for advice.

Everyone advised you to ask for the CPU to be returned to you, such that you could check a) whether the buyer sends you back the right CPU, and b) if the correct CPU is sent back, whether it now has bent pins. You were also advised to be cordial with the buyer in the meantime so they didn't maliciously bend pins on the CPU before sending it back.

You appear to have ignored this advice, instead sending the buyer a message questioning the truth of their previous statements (i.e. implicitly accusing them of lying), and they have understandably not taken too kindly to that. Imagine if you bought a CPU from an online retailer, you sent them a message stating the pins were bent on arrival, and they just responded with words to the effect of: "Nah mate, that's impossible. You're talking nonsense."

All the while, the buyer seems to have been more than reasonable, even offering to send you photos of the bent pins. Why would they even offer to send photos if they were scamming you? Why would they call your bluff like that when it's completely unnecessary?

Keep asking for the photos. As far as I can tell from the communications you've posted so far, you've only asked once.

Are you mad, he should not need to ask more than once, if I had bought a processor that had bent pins you could be sure that I would have taken and sent photos before this was even asked of me.

Secondly I would not have left negative feedback until the issue was resolved.

I guess maybe that's because I am a reasonable human being and not a scammer though.

I don't quite understand why you guys are saying that having a serial number prevents scams. I could send out a cpu with bent pins to a guy, wait for him to return it and then get anther identical cpu with a different serial and claim that the buyer is trying to screw me over. It proves nothing to ebay.
