Stalker mods

well you are free to your opinion, but why would a change of background ruin it?

i feel that rinsing Pripyat is repetitive, dull and old and allready has ruined the game since i wasn't bothered to even play the 3rd game.

Its all about the zone for me tbh. I love the look and atmosphere of it and an African setting just doesn't hold the same appeal for me. I'd rather they expanded the zone as I do agree that re-visiting old areas was a bit dull. That's probably why I will always like the first best as it was all new.

I have installed stalker about 10 times. I have played complete 2009 most reacently

HOwever, I always uninstall teh game by the time I get to top left area of the 1st map when you start to go underground and stuff.

I find it hard, run out of ammo and get bored.

Does the game get more fun?
Do you get more ammo? Should I play on lower than normal?

Tbh it's one of those games that gets better and better and leaves you wanting more by the end. It's well worth a full playthrough if you get chance.

You end up with more ammo than you will ever use further into the game. The beginning weapons are rubbish and you have to empty a full clip to take down one man sometimes. But once you get one of the nato weapons it gets a lot better.

I was going to install SoC on my netbook as I reckon it would run it at lower settings. I take it the complete mod would be a waste of time for it as I'm not going to be able to crank up the settings so the better graphics will be wasted.

so to play at normal is fine?

Yeah, probably not worth bothering I'm afraid. :(

I have played all the games as normal and with the complete mods. If you are playing them now for the first time I would use the complete mods. It takes nothing away from the games but brings them a bit more visually up too date.
Still one of my all time favourite game series and I have just bought the steam versions so looking forward to another play through.

is there a mod to make the game any easier lol

Yeah, it's call "Man the **** up".

You can find it by googling "Grow a pair you pussy".

I kid, in terms of reducing difficulty directly probably not, however most mods alter weapon ballistics which mean you can now unload a magazine from an AK 2 feet in front of a soldier and some of them might actually hit. The ballistics in vanilla are appalling. It doesn't affect enemies hitting you as that is based on ingame difficulty settings, the higher the setting, the more bullets an enemy fires will hit you whilst in your line of site.

probably a stupid question but how do you install the 2009 mod? I ran the installer and it comes up with an error saying it can't find my installation of stalker

well, since the complete mods do WAY more than just a graphics upgrade i would say its well worth installing it on your netbook.
