I'm not effort posting in GD about Thatcher, the only reason you got a 10 second length post is because it winds me up when people try and use debate structure to point score and it almost never ever is done correctly. Posting in GD for anything other than mindless entertainment is simply not worth it. Look at the levels of skullduggery from privileged nerds in the racism in football thread, its simply not worth the effort of posting anything other than for fun.
 
I don't know what it was like to live under her, however from what I've read and watched, she seemed like a person who stayed true to their convictions, for better or for worse, and I respect that.

No actually I'm more unsure about privatisation as a whole - in certain industries- some worked fine... I must say however I like that she brought politics much more central, Blair did the same. Shame Miliband is going back to the left really....

On the whole, I guess to build on my earlier comment that this is in poor taste, whilst yes I don't necessarily think Thatcher was the greatest Prime Minister ever and had many many failings, you can't completely disregard the huge impact that she had on politics. Also first female Prime Minister - a note worthy achievement in itself.... I think she deserves a State Funeral because of her impact on national politics and how much she shaped Britain, never mind if I actually agree with her policies or not...
