Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB v OCZ Vertex 3 120GB

Have they been improved or are slow sequentials standard on them?

I have the same dilemma. M4 looks good but is €40 more expensive here than the Corsair Force Series 3

I'm on SATA 3gb so I'm leaning toward the Force 3. I'm too cheap for the M4 :)

Is there any evidence that the M4 will last a lot longer than the Corsair? Unless there is, I just don't see how it's worth the extra.

Don't bench a sandforce based drive with AS SSD, you need to use ATTO.

False.

Bench the drive on a number or benchmarks. It will reveal any flaws, in this case the sandforce asynchronous NAND inability to provide rated speed on random compressed and none compressed files.

Crucial m4 is good at everything.

Buy that.

Im interested in the corsair force 3 to replace my velociraptor 150gb.

Will it be much faster?

Will it work on my motherboard, i think its this one
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

How do you connect an SSD drive to your computer? Not via sata i take it?

Could you link me to the m4 please. I can only find a pack of 2 x 64gb drives. Or is that the same?

Thanks. 415mb read, 175mb write. Isnt that a lot slower than others that are around 500mb each?

Would these work with my p45 ds3p motherboard?

It's over 500MB/s read, actually don't understand why OcUK don't update their description since all drives ship with the new firmware now anyway, as for the write speed, Sandforce drives may advertise over 500MB/s writes, but that's with 100% uncompressed data which is basically never going to happen in normal day to day use.

I've got both of these drives but in 64Gb flavours, can't fault either TBH, though I think the M4's slightly faster when it comes to video editing.

Also want to know how the new Samsung 830 flavours do against the M4!
