Is Harry Potter against/anti religion?

You can cause harm to yourself just by having the wrong belief in the wrong place, others will deny that religion plays a major part in many world conflicts.

But how can anyone deny that Pakistan was born of India simply because of different religions & the massacre that followed the separation is beyond me, same goes for Israel & Palestine,

Harm myself? How?

So, no my version of events doesn't differ from everyone else's, it just differs from those who really don't know what they are talking about.

I agree, you are correct in every detail, you alone could end famine and bring about world peace & prosperity for all. In fact I think you could be god incarnate himself

I don't mean you harm yourself , I mean others can harm you because of your chosen faith

In some countries Christians are persecuted very cruelly so yes it is possible. In our culture it doesn't happen as we are free to believe what we like. Then again we are told in the bible to expect trials and persecutions to try our faith so anything is possible.

Not with short hair.

Get the long hair back. Especially the messy long hair look she had for a while.

This man speaks the truth. She's actually the right age for me as well! So Castiel when I'm 40 and you have a 20yo grandchild/child, you'll introduce us right?

Merry Christmas all :) Especially you Castiel, seeing as you steered the thread to this...

So this thread turned from a religious distaste for anything that implies that magic is false, into a Emma Watson appreciation thread.

Good development i think.

Harry Potter is a work of fiction....it makes no reference to Christianity per se and is not anti-religous. Quite the opposite in fact, they celebrate Christmas in every film do they not?

Some misguided evangelical Christians seem to take the pagan symbolism in Harry Potter as being symbolic of anti-Christian intent on the behalf of the author, when the fact is that the pagan symbolism is inate to the plot and subject matter....i.e Magic!

Some people simply cannot help but see offense in everything and these people should be ignored.

Besides....Emma Watson.

This to be honest.

Christmas plays quite a big role in a couple of the books too, it's present in all of them (off the top of my head), what an utterly bizarre stance people take against certain things.
