the voice acting is getting old already for me , im skipping it more and more and just reading the text . agree with that it doesnt feel like a MMO at the moment although I'm only lvl 15 ;)

Good to see lots of folk wanting to join Nice Hat! I'll be online for large portions of the day, just type /who and replace your local zone name with Nice Hat in the search box and send anyone a message asking if there's an inviter online. Hope to catch up with you all later.

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the Flashpoint last night - even if the higher levels did make it a bit of a formality :D we should encourage these regularly :)

Was good fun even though we breezed through it!

The queues on Freedon are far too long. Any other PvP server people play on?

And, sorry for the comparison to Wow, but what are the PvP servers like in general, or is there not much difference playing on a pvE?

I play on a pvp server, I have as yet to come across republic scum, my brother who is level 45 has come across only one.

It's not as bad as I would thought, especially coming from a pve server in wow.

Damn - lost sound this morning in SWTOR

Can't seem to figure out what the issue is. I have checked sound is enabled in the client. I have also disabled GX on my Xonar DX soundcard.

This, really.

I think people are jumping on the hate wagon a little too quickly, personally. All the WoW comparisons being thrown about are also a little unfair. WoW has been around for 6 years, so it has a huge head start.

I'm personally going to enjoy the story in this game, and hope they address people's issues with regards to the MMO stuff, etc. in the coming months.

There are always a core group of gamers that jump on the hate wagon for any game - I ignore them (i.e. avoid the official forums for the first few months) and enjoy it for what it is.

I personally think TOR is an excellent game tbh - haven't had this much fun for a long time, and at the end of the day that is all that matters.

I dont see a 'hate wagon'. That implies people are complaining for no reason. There seems to be a real core problem here which is that the first M in MMO is missing because of the way server load is handled. I dont think anyone who just spashed out the cash for the game is thrilled about this.

I certainly hope that the devs arent taking your approach and ignoring it, hoping it will all go away. Its a real issue and i am sure we would all like to see it sorted.

hat wow comparrisons? i compared it to WAR which i feel is fair they both had the same devlopment times but one was obviously much more complete , had much more content and still failed hard, i think swtor will do damn well to last anywhere near aslong as WAR did.(which wasnt very long at all)

And I compared it to swg and despite being 10 years older was about 10 years ahead in most areas. Other than story.

It all seems story based, which gets a little dull and end up hitting space bar constantly.

I don't quite understand the "WoW's had years to do all this stuff, SWToR just came out."

Its true, but is it relevant? SWToR isn't competing with vanilla WoW, its competing with present WoW - a new MMO that sticks this closely to the traditional mold (if it were a pretty damned different type of MMO, it'd be an apples and oranges comparison really) really has to have all these key features, as well as the big headline that sets it apart. P2P MMO's at least absolutely need to nail that first month nowadays, because if people burn through the content, or are left wanting for (what would appear to them to be) standard features...they're going to leave, and if that happens enough - look at RIFT (just started my 7 day "replay" period or w/e) servers dont go above medium capacity any more, and thats like 3-4 of them out of a list of 15 or something.

I don't think you can play it this safe with your mechanics and then claim you cant implement all these standard features right away, and that the competitor has a head start. And lets be honest, where it counts, SWToR played it very safe. When a game is supposed to be moving the genre forward, its supposed to take the good features of the genre and add to it, not take the basic features and add its own stuff and then spend the next 5 months playing catch up.

all the future content sounds story based aswell... telling me these actors are stuck in long contracts ... great if you actually care about the story, some of us just want an MMO , you know where you make the story..

theres no sandbox at all so once the story is done your just on subscription until the next chapter comes out and then its more of the same...

wow suceeded because the BG's and raid content were good enough to keep people playing, swtor seems to have nothing and they expect everyone to play the other class for the stories instead.....

the games boring enough playing solo grinded away , it will all feel the same again , its not like the planets stories change depending on class and the darkside/good side choices are to few and far between and the majority of the time its a choice between someone dieing or not

really the light/dark choice is about the same as choosing what reward you want at the end of the quest....

Difference between hating and voicing a genuine concern.

I would rather voice worries (I have put constructive threads on the forums) rather than blindly accepting everything as perfect.

I like the game and the direction it has tried to take but it's not an mmo it is just an rpg with multiplayer elements at the mo and I wanted/expected an mmo. I don't want to pay monthly for a single player game.

Btw if anyone finds themselves on Flames of the Crucible me and a few mates made a fun little social guild for levelling. Just whisper Oxygene.
