I mut admit it hasn't grabbed me that much. I just loaded the game up with an intention to play it some but it crashed to desktop, hence why I'm posting here now.
I'm level 28 Commando - so I may not have the vast experience some of you have, but here are my concerns.
Player base:
It sold 1 million copies someone mentioned. I would estimate <600,000 people to continue their subscription come payment time.
Not sure how many people will purchase the game over the next few months.
If the game cost >£100m and game sales only generated £40m (40 x 1,000,000) and only 500,000 people are going to pay £9 a month to play it I think it may struggle financially to continue development unless EA really want it to succeed.
PvP:
The level 10-50 thing is pretty retarded, level 50's will always rape a level 10.
So many times I have pressed (keyboard) my abilities for my character to stand there and not fire anything off.
Crowd Control - it gets a bit frustrating to not be able to do anything most of the time - although this is probably down to Republic sucking (the faction I am on) and Imperial just owning about 90% of the time.
Random battlegrounds - why can't I choose my favourite? Imagine the outcry if Flashpoints were random dependant on level.
World environment:
I must agree with people that have mentioned how empty it all seems.
In WoW if you went to the AH there would be 10's of people just standing there browsing. Your lucky if there is someone standign next to you at the kiosk in SWTOR.
I would also agree you barely ever see your own faction whilst questing, let alone the other side (I'm on a PvP server).
Other:
The story was good while I played in the beta weekend - after getting to level 10 or so I just space bar everything and choose the top response and light/dark as I see fit.
I hope it does succeed, but I can't see myself continuing to subscribe unless gameplay is more fluid.
WoW definately has nothing to worry about.
