Do you think shooting/killing/war gaming everyday can effect mental state/health

what u on about u get much more action in video games than real life obvioously. U cant die in real life and respawn.

Mate I have blown up about 500 tanks in a month and been shot down in my heli 100+ times. I have been blown up by 20+ grenades. and stabbed in the back 10-20 times. I have been shot in the head by snipers at least 20 times. And I have been killed by 20 + mortar strikes...this is just a highlight of my last month or so

That told the "know it all" squaddie a thing or two eh?

You are a very large snap on.

There's quite a difference between that and real life though. The 1 bullet of real action would completely change you, where as you're indifferent to games and getting killed.

I would call real life a lot more action.

techically you are wrong. Its quantity vs qaulity (intensity?).

Im not even talking about war im tlakling about the reptitive action of killingpeopple with guns all day in computer games.

I am in no way comparing this to beign shot in real life which is a complete different thing.

If you were to get any form of enjoyment from a real contact, trust me on this, it worth be worth about 10 years worth of "action" on bf3 :)

I wouldntenjoy real fighting.

I aint even just reffering to shooting but like the lock on missles, the driving games, sports games etc..

I mean sit in your room in the dark shooting aliens 5 hrs stright then go down to the pub are you the same guy lol?

Apart from what ive said early, if you ever need an answer for psychological questions.

Simply ask yourself this, Is the mind in question going through puberty?

If yes, then the chance of visual and audio links in the brain will occur quite easily with what is being portrayed in the game, of course if that child has the foundations of right and wrong, along with consequences of the actions in question, doing rather menial good and bad things (like chores or stealing something like a pen), then there should be no problem whatsoever with violent games.

Ever wondered why its always the kids with useless parents, they didn't set any barriers and that always leads to disaster, if a child knows where his place his, he/she will be less likely to be a nuisance.

Of course a teenager is different, but that would require several walls of text.

Though half the time its simply the child using a scapegoat to move the blame away from them, so its hard to make a good analyse.

I do this damn near everyday (although not aliens) and yes I am the same person (although I don't go out to the pub as I have no friends where I live).
As said before, some of us have the mental capacity to be able to discern what is reality and what is not.
It is apparent that you have issues with this and so I would recommend seeing a Doctor before you hurt someone.

Yeah odd that, a mate who served mentioned how i was unkowingly using my training when gaming.

Laying covering fire, room clearance all sorts.

I swear the physics on bf3 must be way off, or im just boss eyed. :p

Would love to fire the L96 btw, never got the chance.

Last time i did a spot group, i broke a brand new fig11 range warden was not a happy bunny.

Only took 25 rounds. :D

As for gaming affecting me, only winds up boring me to death if i play too much, that's about it.

I get the same thing hux, 8 years in recce as a sniper but on bf3 i can't hit a thing  even with the L96 which, by all accounts, i used to be pretty handy with :P

I've been gaming all my life in many different games on many different platforms, and spent hour upon hour fragging away everything under the sun, and everything that has been dreamt up by man and then digitised.

I once spent 10 straight hours playing UT, afterwards I didn't go on a rampage killing everything that moved.

I once played as a terrorist in Counter Strike, afterwards I didn't plant a bomb in a public area, nor took any hostages.

I can count the amount of physical fights I've ever had on one hand, most of those were at school whilst defending myself from bullies.

Gaming is an outlet for frustration, not a catalyst for it. You might say "well, the young and impressionable might be affected by gaming differently". True, but any parent who allows their child to play violent 18+ games should accept all responsibility for any crimes their child commits, if they blame it on games. Mental patients shouldn't be allowed access to them.

I dont have any issues really but I do get like falshabacks and thoughts and memories in my mind say when Im on the bus or soemthing.

If I am playing even a lot of skyrim then I wait at bus stop and on bus maybe drifting in and out of aprtial sleep but still awake ill will get mental visions and thought related to the game.

Last night I dreamed i was in a chopper and I kept eharing this beeping for lock on but my flares wouldnt work lmoa

Thats another god point if you had no gaming how would u outlet your male aggression. Many IRL dudes go out and get drunk and fight. Maybe wed do that if we had no gaming outlet?

I recall having no pc for a few weeks and the inabilty to shoot people got me annoyed.

I once had to take my guitar for repairs and no guitra fro 2 weeks I got restless also

that awkward moment when compboyo attempts to appear intelligent...

the stupid posters are the ones saying real war is not like a video game..talk about state the ****** obvious. NO were did I ever say playing war games is like a real war.

Cause when I play fifa I dont feel the same as when I play real footy funnily.

I am saying that games have more action than real war per play time.

You could be in the army 3 years and never fire a round against an enemy or have only 10 hours actual ''fight'' time.

Whereas in a video game you fight nonstop.
