Last time you went to the dentist?

Last time I went to see a dentist was when I was 14. I'm now 35.

I still have no fillings and strong teeth. Gotta keep up with the brushing though :p Never eaten much in the way of sweets either, so I guess that's a help too.

I was rather put off at my last dentist visit. The guy took a mould of my teeth but put too much of the putty stuff in the cast gum-shield thing; I had a big flap of the moulding compound ooze out of the cast mould and settle over my windpipe. I could breathe out fine, but every time I tried to breathe in, the flap of gunge sucked down and stopped me inhaling. I turned blue, apparently.

one day your going to be chomping and a tooth is going to crack in half ;)

Last check-up was about 11 years ago.

Had to have a tooth removed about 2 years ago; done through an emergency appointment as I've long since fallen off the register. It turned out it was a baby tooth (I'm 30!).

Every 6 months, normally get a text a week before appointment. Gotta go back next month for a filling. Dentist doesnt bother me, dunno why people stress over it. If you've got manky teeth then it's your own fault for a) not going b) not looking after them.

Was there all the time when I was younger, dealing with braces and having teeth taken out/false ones put in. Last visit was about 4 months ago, but I need to go back, as one of the false ones has fallen out again. Fake teeth aside, they're in pretty good shape.

Last time i went i had my wisdom teeth removed. That was when i was about 19, which was in 2003. Dentists are a rip off, I spend so much on national insurance each month and i don't even get dental, it is a ridiculous. They want £60 to remove a mercury poison filling. What a rip off.

I need to have my wisdom teeth removed soon. Every now and then, they swell up, and i keep biting the swolen gum when i eat. Hurts like mad and is very annoying.

Last went 8 months ago - joined a new one today though :)

Also problems with Wisdom teeth - only the lower 2 left, one that whatever I do is decaying slowly and they keep getting infected, so might just get them out.

Didn't go for around 6-7 years or so - went around 6 months ago and needed 6 fillings :o

Anyway, next appointment is due soon as I had a missed call from them recently - hopefully no more fillings !

How much will a NHS dentist try to weasel out of your wallet when you visit for a polishing?

I love our country's attitude to dentists...

Anyway, it'll cost you £17 for an exam and scale & polish. Pennies compared to say what a non professional, say a plumber, would charge for his time

Last time I went I was in high school, I'm 25 now. Totally regret abusing my teeth so much and not caring for them more. I've been recently seeing a dentist and trust me it hasn't been nice :( but even though I've had a lot done, it's good to finally get it sorted and I'm definitely going to keep up the visits now!

Haven't been for 2 years...!

I got some nasty tooth ache on Christmas Eve, and had it up until today. Booked an appintment with the dentist for a looksie. It's too bad for a filling so now I have to undergo Root canal treatment. Sounds expensive and painful!!! Anyone else had this done? I'm having it done on one of my back tooths so there are obviously more roots than a front tooth.

I think I'll try to go more often now.

I don't understand this countries attitude towards a lot of things, the cost of visiting the opticians being another.

These are specialists, looking after parts of your body that are absolutely vital. Do you really want treatment cost to be a race to the bottom?

You'll get lots of opinions but it's all the same once you've had anaesthetic. No pain but just uncomfortable, enjoy :D
