I suspect I have bedbugs

Weve had fleas a few times in the house fortunately they dont wait till 2am to strike so whenever i used to catch one biting me i used to pinch it and crush it untill it was dead or just flush it down the toilet. They are quite easy to exterminate as well.

Thank god ive never had bed bugs, it sounds like a right nightmare

Are you itchy just at night time? If your sitting on the couch at night, are you itchy... or is it just purely when in bed?

It may well be Scabies, these are incredibly common. The good news is your bed is fine as they can't live on other surfaces other than you... the bad news is... there on YOU!

No, they'll occupy soft furnishings and skirtings/furniture etc to lay eggs and pass through the life cycle. Only adult fleas occupy a body, and even then not always persistently. It's almost certainly fleas - it's not just random itchiness, it's very specific feeling and bites. Since reading up on fleas more, it seems they favour the scalp - I'm not sure why as they can't live off humans - they can't digest the proteins in our blood - but most of the bites are around my scalp and chest. The Rentokil bloke's professional opinion is fleas as well, and it's the best indication I've had. Flea bomb it is.

This is making my skin crawl, yuck, our late cat caught a flea infestation once, safe to say when we found out he was bathed for 20 mins, I think it was the worst 20 mins of his life!!! I was well ignored for 2 weeks LOL

Whilst I was doing that padded up to the chest from his claws. the rest of the family spend a lot of money on flea powder and spread it all over the house not one bit was missed and hoovered everywhere, couch, matresses padding on chairs all soft furnishings.

The next few weeks if it is fleas from an animal, buy a flea collar and stick it in the bag or container of the hoover, we tend forget about the hoover if you vacuum and not empty straight away the blighters will find there way out

As I said in the other thread that was linked too. (although that turned out to be fleas in his case)
Take your bed, duvet and mattress, take it outside and set light to it.
Remove all soft furnishings and clothes from the room and wash the lot three times over as hot as it'll go without ruining it.
Move all furniture away from the walls.
Get a specialist in to spray and fumigate the room.
Stay out of the room and Sleep on the sofa for a week.
Buy a new bed, mattress, quilt, pillow and covers.
Tentatively move back in...
Begin to relax after a week of whipping back the quilt and switching on the light at about 4 am to inspect the battlefield.

Been there, done it and got rid of the ****ers on the first attempt.

You what!
You dirty little scrubber, have some self respect.
Get down the laundrette if you can't do it at home!

Aah, I'd forgotten about this thread. Finally tracked down the problem after repeat flea treatments didn't work - turns out I'm allergic to Daz washing powder. Not sure why the reaction looked and felt so much like bites, but the moment I changed my washing powder the problem went away. That was a good 6 months of feeling dirty and scummy for no real reason :(.

I had a bloody dream about bedbugs last night thanks to ocuk, the woke up imaging them crawling on me, Grrr! also whats the norm change time for peoples sheets and pillow case & duvet, I do sheet and pillow case every week and duvet cover every month
