Boxing Day Bargains

but i have never ever seen a decent shirt in tk maxx, in fact the only things i have seen of note in tk maxx are CK boxers, CK belts, some ties, formal shoes and stuff for women and the home.

TK Maxx stores are graded as A.B or C , depending on the average wealth of the people living in the area immediately surrounding the store.

A stores get all the best stock, and C stores (like the ones in city centres) get all the crap as the footfall is high enough that sooner or later anyone will buy any old crap.

Maybe you just havent happened to go to a good one?

Not that I do a lot of shopping these days. I prefer to spend my £££ on the AIM. But the TKMaxx in Cambridge had some decent things in the past. Stone Island/ and Ralph Lauren Polo to name a couple of more expensive brands. The dress shirts are nice and would be £90+ in Guilios, there £40. Stone Island jumpers etc for £50 beats £150+ elsewhere (if you can find it).

I guess you have to go often to find the nicer things. But who has the time!

Any example of A stores in the South East?

Im guessing Windsor would be an example?

im sikh, when i went to india for 6 months (holiday) i probably went to 30 weddings in 6 months, my uncle was a politician though at the time (passed away now) and literally got so many invites and so many boxes of barfi (indian sweets) with every invite, we had to start giving them away.

we are usually invited to about 30+ weddings a year, but a lot of them are far away. i have been to india, canada, london, leeds, birmingham, etc for weddings.

it's a part of our culture and tradition, this year i went to london for one, a few in glasgow, science centre, thistle hotel, etc.

im getting married next year, my best mate 2 weeks before me, my fiancee's best mate 1 week after us. so thats basically 3 extremely close weddings there all in one go.

it's like that every year, same goes for birthday's, anniversary's etc.

sikh weddings are huge and the average cost of a sikh weddings is 40-60K.

we dont just have 1 party either, you get a ladies sangeet, which is the night the women do a bit of traditional singing, and jago, etc. so that is uaully a big party too, and then other smaller parties.

basically when there is 1 wedding your guaranteed at least 2 big parties, in halls/hotels, etc as well as smaller parties for other stuff in marquees in back gardens.

as an example for my wedding i have booked a photographer from london for 6 days, thats because im having 2 parties, fiancee is having 3 parties and then our wedding is on the saturday and the reception on the sunday.

basically you need at least 3 different outfits minimum when your invited to a wedding.

I cringe every time I read one of your posts. No one wanted a lesson on sikh weddings:p Also it doesn't matter how fine the cotton in your shirt is, try ironing it before wearing it;)

I don't know about others, but the TK MAXX I go to gets stuff like G-Star jeans, Ralph Lauren jeans, DKNY jackets, Diesel black label belt (£120 down to £20 anyone?)

Yes, there are a lot of crap but like my sister says "you always seem to find the good stuff in there". I don't know how I do it but I do :p

I kind of understand why psycho sonny like wearing designer clothes, they do have a better cut, some of the fabric is nicer even if it is cotton, just the weaving is better. What I find boarderline offensive is I get the feeling that he looks down on people shopping there. Just because I got some clothes from TK Maxx then it can't be as good as his that he got from the offical Ted Baker shop? Do I sense a feeling of resentment?

I got 2 Ted Baker bags, one from Ted Baker shop and the other from Selfridges, I assure you that they are both as good as the other. I got my Paul Smith bag from the Apple site, a Barbour bag from ASOS and got my Hugo Boss Glasses from Vision Express. It makes no difference where they are purchased. I am handling over money all the same, what matters is I get what I want when I want at the price that I want.

Popped into HMV today. I'm one to keep track of prices of items that interest me. "up to half price!" all over the store, but the prices haven't changed at all. It's just to create an illusion that you can save loads right now so buy buy buy!

The "up to half price" slogans don't really lie, but the prices are usually up to half price of the rrp all year round.

Jack Wills was packed today, about 10 times as many people and the shop was like Primark with clothes all messy. When I look closer the price was like 10% off most things which is nothing considering how expensive it is to begin with.

I'd ignore him, he seems to think it's impressive to shop in places like ted baker and all saints when they are just normal average shops. I get tired of asian rudeboys, they are all the same....but it is still amusing nonetheless:D

best i had on my phone, you cannot see the full shirt, but you get the point, the colour is amazing

oh and i got a ted baker tie for £15 too, usually they are £45+ too, not in pic that was a £12 one from slaters, a plainer one with stripes.

Try the tie with a dark blue shirt. For the shirt, a dark grey waist coat and trousers suite combo, but I wouldn't been seen dead in that combo

Bought these yesterday 3 for £12 :)

Well we are moving house soon so i went with the parents to Best Buy and we got a Samsung "American" fridge freezer with the ice and water machine and so on, NEFF dishwasher and also a Beko washing machine. Saving of about £600 going on the ticket prices of course.

On the way home i looked in some local shops and the main thing i got was a new watch;
