Jets I'm grand with. I can get helis to move gradually in any direction but I've no idea how people do the mad speedruns through trees and buildings I've seen.
New years resolution is to fly the littlebirds more![]()
Nah, hardcore is more realistic.![]()
Any tips on fast turning a jet, couple of guys last night doing silly tight turns. I was busy cutting speed and staying low to get a fast turn but they were easily out turning me. I almost had a head on with one and within about 2 secs he was using the canon from behind.

If I wanted realistic, Id join the Army![]()
I can't believe this **** is still playing...

First saw him 2 weeks ago, aimbot headshotting from US base in metro to RU base spawn.
EA/DICE have really dropped the ball with this!
And If I didn't want it semi-realistic, I'd join the multitude of non-HC servers out there. Like you can.
Matts server is one of the few decent HC servers I've played, with a good regular player base and admins. I hope it stays that way![]()
I know, I was playing aroundI often go in Matts, just haven't had much time recently.
You'd think Dice would catch on to what type of aimbots are being used and sort it out..![]()
You'd think they'd have something set up which would scan stats reports and flag up anyone getting a KDR of better than X:1.
"[Report No. 12345] Err, this guy just got a KDR of 30,000:1. Might wanna manually check if that's legit..."
You would also think Punkbuster, being as old as it is and widely used, would be able to find a simple aimbotter![]()
Never know, they might hit the 'Ban' button as soon as New Year hits.. That would be funny![]()
Got this for Christmas.. A little late but hey.
I've been playing too many RPGs.. My aim is dreadfull

Cutting speed isn't the only important thing, people have found that a mix of accelerating and braking seems to help you turn faster. Pulling manoeuvres during that sort of thing is a mixed bag: against a newer pilot you can confuse them, lose them and that'll give you a chance to reposition yourself somewhere better. More experienced pilots will stick to you like glue and breaking out of a turn just gives them an opportunity you line you up in their sights.
Good turns are a combination of braking/accelerating, mouse work and A/D work too. If you want a hard left then roll to the left, pull up continuously, jam down your finger on A to bank left and mix up acceleration and deceleration. Keep your eye on the Air Radar (if you have it) to monitor where they are and when is a good time to break out of a turn.
Staying low isn't always a good thing. Since I've started playing on Matt's HC server I've definitely increased the normal altitude I've kept. Now I seem to loiter as high as I can around the edges of the battlefield until I spot an air target. Go in fast from above, pick it off and sprint back out to the edges again. Helps to keep most of the AA off you.

I've been flying totally on keys so far, just starting to go for the mouse when I've a shot lining up with the canon.
