Hey guys,

Ever sine I have joined the gym I have used weights, and when I need to drop the fat, use the treadmill.

My girlfriend is about to restart her gym sessions and aims to lose a stone by may through dieting and exercise, the only problem is, she hates the treadmill/bike/cross trainer as she finds them boring, which I can understand.

I'd like to put a programme together of boxin with pads, light compound exercises such as squats/deads/pull ups.

The problem being I have never done any boxing and would like some advice on what to do with the pads?

Also i would like to have some "fun" exercises to keep her interested what can I do?

Thanks

Skipping is pretty good, bag work, light sparring.

Can put it into a circuit, with sprints inbetween each stage etc. Just try different circuits up each time so it doesn't get boring with time. We do it from time to time, and it flys in your also sweating in no time.

Don't really need to worry about technique if its only for fitness but it could be good to do so at the same time.

HIIT is another thing to look at for buring fat, which altough most sites say is done by running. Can be put into most things, weights, skipping, boxing circuits. But it isn't too boring even on the treadmill as your mostly completly knackert and only takes 20minutes or so.

The best thing to do though is most likely to pay for some classes, a bit of comeptition and will have a partner to work with. I would imagine there is 'boxercise' classes at a local gym. Or even join a boxing club.

Erm.... Well it depends what kit you have. If youve got standard fullarm pads, teach her some numbers (left hook 1, left straight 2 etc) then run her through number combos.

Skipping is a plus too!
